Kickin It Old School
When it comes to carving Jack-O-Lanterns, this is how une femme rolls. No stencils, no fancy tools, just me, a paring knife and gourd with some character.

Great photo. Go pumpkins!
And no bloody stumps for fingers…impressive!
Positively ghoulish…I’d love to see this lit from within in the dark of night!
LPC – thanks! Love the pumpkins!
Susan – I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Just find a scarf you like and play. It should be fun!
Vix – no cuts even this year! It helps that the knife is a little bit dull….
Hostess – see the next post. 🙂
Tiffany – thanks, and be my guest. I often get my inspiration from others’ efforts.
He looks very scary. Nice job. How do you say Boo in French? By the way, Martin and I enjoy your scarf tying videos. You’ve inspired me to notice scarves now and think about what I might like. However, I’m a fashion and beauty slacker so it will take some pondering, and opportunity!
Aha! Love that guy so much I’m copying him for one of mine (hope you don’t mind!).
Nice lantern – happy Halloween!
I agree about not using stencils, etc. I think Halloween was more fun and more creative when there wasn’t so much pre-packaged stuff.
Good for you for carving it old school. When my girlfriend told met that she carves hers with a drill, I just rolled my eyes.
That’s Not My Age – thanks, and hope you had a happy one too!
Rita – the simple hand carved ones always bring back my pleasant childhood Halloween memories; that’s why I’ve clung to tradition.
Belle – a drill??? At least she doesn’t use a chainsaw.
That’s some carving skills you’ve got Pseu!
Love the pumpkins! Very festive. And I wanted to tell you I tied one of your long scarf ties this evening to wear while taking les enfants out for trick or treat. Your directions worked perfectly, and I was impressed how the scarf stayed in place. Thank you!
