Chanel “Le Volume de Chanel” Mascara

I received a couple of samples of this new-ish product and set them aside until a few days ago, when I wanted to wear a black mascara for evening. I’ve tried volumizing mascaras before and found them either ineffective or clumpy or flaky. This one is none of those things. It goes on smoothly, and really does make lashes look much thicker and fuller. But it’s not too OTT dramatic either, hits just the right balance. It doesn’t smear or flake during the day, and comes off easily with Bioderma or makeup remover.

If you prefer a brown or even blue mascara, I’ve been told both of those colors will be available in the US come Spring.

Bon weekend!

  1. Maybe it is time for me to stray away from old Maybelline, eh? 🙂 Chanel products are usually excellent. I just got a new nail polish I really enjoy, so why not this mascara? Will let you know if I like it… Thank you for the recommendation. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  2. I’ve been a Dior mascara woman for years, though become annoyed every time they “fix” a product that isn’t “broke” – in other words, either reformulate or more likely change the brush making it easier or harder to handle.

I use both Dior and Chanel products and love them equally. I just may give this a try when the current mascara is out of juice, if the price is comparable…

    Et bon weekend !

  3. I recently bought Jane Iredale mascara and I love it. Maybe when it runs out I will try this one – I like the brush.

  5. Though I love Chanel cosmetics, I also love l’Oreal… Made in the same factories as Lancôme (both brands belong to the same group) and less expensive than high end names….
Happy New Year 🙂 Wishing you the best for 2013 !
