Un Bon Weekend In Paris

The weather has been beautiful the past couple of days (and promises to be today as well, our last full day in Paris) and we’ve covered a lot of territory as well as spending some time with wonderful people. I’ll have so much to share in more depth including our hotels, activities, restaurants, shopping, recap of my travel wardrobe, and (bien sur!) style notes from Paris. But for now, here is some Paris Pretty from le weekend.

This little girl was enthralled by some opera singers who were performing in Place des Vosges.

We’ll be out and about again today, with a bit more shopping on the agenda. Still have a few gifts to pick up for folks back home, and I still haven’t had my fill of leche vitrines. 😉 Though I’ve already snapped quite a few street style pics of les femmes d’un certain âge, I plan to park myself at an outdoor cafe today and get more for you.

À bientot!

  1. Wonderful pictures! I had trouble getting your last two posts – error messages of one kind of another. I’ll go back now and see if they download. I don’t want to miss Paris!

  2. You are the best advertisement for Paris travel I know!! I cannot wait to read all of your posts and to see your street style pictures. Safe travels home!!

  3. Hard to believe your trip is nearly over! The last few days are always so memorable and bittersweet. Looking forward to seeing the trip unfold in future posts, dear Femme.

  4. You were such a good sport about the rain, but I am very glad that you got these beautiful Paris days before you come home. Looking forward to your posts.

  5. Bonjour Une Femme! It’s been an absolute delight following your daily posts and gorgeous photos. I was supposed to visit Paris this summer but alas – am home recovering from unplanned surgery. Thank you for sharing your travels; the sights, the sounds, the food, the people. Honestly, it’s the next best thing to being there. Safe flight home. Can’t wait to see more.

  6. Can’t wait to see your street style photos! And so glad you’re having some lovely sunny days.

  7. Looks absolutely glorious! thank you for such wonderful photos and staying in touch. Can’t wait to see the street styles! Sally

  8. I am so looking forward to reading your posts and seeing your pics, especially those of women of a certain age. I’ve noticed that even though I read all these blogs posted by mature women, the majority of the time the added pics with fashion suggestions etc are of very thin very young women. Not really inspiration for me to purchase the same. And yet “Advanced Style” seems to go to far. Where oh where are the 50-60 year old women? Do they ever come outside?

  9. I’m loving your photos of Paris. I can’t wait to visit myself and you’re increasing my desire to do so.

  10. Hi, I’m a long time UK reader who’s not commented previously. I always enjoy your posts about your trips to Europe, and am fascinated by your disciplined packing.Today I booked a trip to Paris for early July, in order to meet up with a US friend currently based in Qatar. I would love to see a post on how you plan your itineraries and any tips on where to visit, eat etc. I think your choices would be right up our street too:-)

    1. Hi Wendy, thanks for your comment. I’ll be posting more about all of the activities and accommodations in the next couple of weeks. We had help from a travel agent with the itinerary in the Loire Valley, as we weren’t sure about driving distances and which areas were best to visit. He gave us some general recommendations and then we planned our days and activities based on that information. Because we had only a few days to visit we wanted to be sure we were utilizing the time well.

      1. I very much look forward to reading it. Thank you for replying, and, actually, thank you even more for inspiring me to revisit Paris. Last time I was 18 and as a 54 year old I am somewhat intimidated by the whole visit. Which is shameful for a regular traveller, but probably influenced by working with too many Parisians over the years – scientists are far too honest about their own city’s failings:-)
