Back And Sides

Haircut collage

I’ve had a few requests to show some side and back views of my haircut, so after Brian finished with my color and cut, I asked him to take a few shots.

It’s kind of counter-intuitive, but we’ve found that cutting some layers into my very fine hair actually gives it more volume and movement.

Have you found that there are certain cuts or styles that work better for your hair?

  1. Love this cut! I have very fine hair too, not helped by the fact that it’s not as thick as it used to be. Are your layers long rather than short? My Spanish hairdresser seems to cut my layers short and I am thinking of asking her to leave them a bit longer (maybe I’ll show her your style!)

  2. I recently went from a chin length messy, wavy layered cut, to much shorter and layered. Since I’ve gone gray, my hair seems to be losing its natural curl. It was a frustrating combo of straight and curly. Shorter seems to be easier, and added plus, earrings make a statement!! You look fab, Femme.

  3. Your hair looks great, and I bet it’s easy to take care of, too. I thin mine around my head so it doesn’t make a dorky triangle shape!

  4. Very chic. My hair has gone a bit wild since I have been in France. It was so humid I gave up blow drying and just went with my natural curls. Now not sure whether to keep it that way as I have had quite a lot of compliments. Plus it saves so much time as it is just wash, scrunch and go.

  5. Love the cut, too. it really works on you. I may copy it when my gray is completely grown out. Thanks for posting the photos so I can show my hairdresser!

  6. Snap. I have the same type of hair and a similar cut except that mine has a fuller fringe. Fine, straight hair has been the bane of my life for 67 years!!! Yours looks good.

  7. Your hair looks good, exactly the sort of cut I’d love to have. I’d like to have a short(ish), layered look, but with curly hair that will never work…

  8. Your hair looks fab and much less finer than mine! For me a blunt, chin length bob is the way to go; layers just lay flat. How great is it, though, to find “your” cut? I’ve also found that the increasing grey helps as it is a little thicker and wavier than my younger stuff (and with a little colorist magic nobody knows the grey is there).
