it’s finally here…

Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation
Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation

Remember that wonderful foundation that Tish introduced me to in Paris in May? It’s finally hit the shelves in the USA and is available at your local Clarins counter. It goes on like a dream, and if you prefer a more sheer application, just mix a bit of Beauty Flash Balm for extra radiance. The name, “Extra Comfort” is apt; this makeup feels very soothing when applied, almost like a treatment.

If you are a foundation wearer, this one is definitely worth checking out. One more thing…a little goes a long way so the jar will last for several months. I use a small plastic scoop (saved from another skincare-in-a-jar product) to get a dab of foundation out, and wash the scoop after each use.

  1. Nice suggestion. I like a light foundation after putting on moisturizer/sunscreen. Tend to apply only in certain areas to “even out” color, so the silkiness/soothing quality you mention is important to me.

Foundations frequently come in the palest of shades (which I need), but for some reason when I look for tinted BB creams, etc., even their lightest shades seem too dark. I probably haven’t experimented enough…

  2. Aha! I’ve been keeping an eye out for this for a year–since an acquaintance in the UK raved about it. Your recommendation only made me more anxious to try it. Thanks for letting us know it’s finally available here.

  3. Tried this yesterday, and found it very light, almost mousse-like, and even better I stopped being aware of it soon after application, unlike most other foundations/tinted moisturizers. Plus the color match was great (Sand).

But right now I’m on a Dr. Hauschka homeopathic jag, and have forsaken all others. When I want a little glow and to even out my skin tone, I just put on some Toned Day Cream (newly renamed Tinted Day Cream). It looks impossibly dark when it comes out of the tube, but blends in beautifully and lasts for a long time.
