merry, happy, jolly

To those of you celebrating Christmas, I hope you’re having a lovely day, and celebrating in a way that’s meaningful to you. I hadn’t planned to post until tomorrow, but the brisket is cooked, the house is relatively clean, and our only project for the day is keeping jeune homme entertained. There will probably be a long walk with the dogs, and some viewing of holiday lights later on.

I couldn’t let the day go by without sharing one of my favorite holiday traditions….

…dancing around the kitchen to The Waitresses while making breakfast!

  1. Oh I love brisket and mentioned it at a gathering, and the snotty wretch standing next to me, said ‘such a cheap cut” All o my Jewish chums would be enraged with me!

  2. Merry happy jolly right back to you and your loved ones, Susan. (And the Waitresses song–oh my gosh, thanks for the memories!)

  3. Mmmmmm, brisket. Here in TX it is not necessarily a Jewish thing, but is hugely popular amongst barbecue eaters. No one here would dare to look down their noses at it!

I learned a new thing today; if your oven dies on Christmas Eve, it is in fact possible to cook a 16 lb stuffed turkey on your barbecue grill and have it turn out ok. Even made decent gravy!
