Yesterday was Elizabeth Taylor’s birthday. I thought it might be fun to revisit one my favorite posts, a tribute to a legend.

Loved this post the first time, and again!
Quelle femme!
Love the quote about vices and virtues. She was an amazingly beautiful woman.
I have always been intrigued with her allure. She is beautiful, and so are other women of her time. Yet she .. had an effect on people. It seemed as if she knew how the movie world spun and she was comfortable and easy about partaking. My favorite story was how she always got gifts of a jewel of some kind for every picture, on top of her salary. Maybe it’s because women are rarely seen asking for anything!
Wasn’t she beautiful? Cat on Hot Tin Roof is one of my favourite movies. She’s wonderful in that. Oh …and Paul Newman isn’t too shabby either!
Probably the epitome of womanhood. Loved her and Paul Newman. Thanks for the great photos.
Wonderful post. She had so many selves. When younger growing up very conservatively I was so intrigued with her an the notion of having so many husbands!

Good ol’ Liz. I was just thinking about her last weekend on Oscar Sunday because seriously, who has a jewelry collection these days like the one she amassed? I love her for it. Forget all this jewelry borrowing, I want to see a dame like Liz who OWNED all those amazing pieces!
I never did understand the whole “Eddie Fisher” thing; but Richard Burton??? Now THAT I got big time!! What a fabulous man! They couldn’t live together, but I don’t think they were ever truly happy apart. Now they are together. It makes me smile to think of it.
One of my all time favorite actresses .. I could watch Elephant Walk every day just to see her fabulous dresses.
Monica.
