  1. Yes, these pictures really got my day startedoff right. It still wants to be winter here in the midwest, ugh, I just hate the cold. 8 weeks until we leave for France and I am beside myself with anticipation. Any packing ideas for the Loire Valley at this time of year would be most appreciated! Looks like you had a lovely time in Las Vegas. Going to an Eileen Fisher trunk show on Saturday, any suggestions on items I should look for. Thanks and welcome home!

  2. What a life !!!
I so want to meet my blogging buddies, especially the BIO ladies, and I know you & Tish will get together.
    Have a wonderful time !!!
We are going (my family) to Italy very soon. My daughter hasn’t been there and I want her to see Sorrento. She’s been everywhere else on the planet, but somehow has missed the best part. So now I get to be Momma Bear.
    Sending love…

  3. Everyone is going to Paris, it seems. We leave in six weeks. We’re renting a flat in the Marais district for a week then on to the north (Arras) then south to Provence for a week, then the Loire. Sigh Can’t wait. Stressing a bit about what to take to wear, though.

  4. I couldn’t agree more. It is wonderful to have a destination to look forward to! I leave for Budapest next week ; )

  5. i so love paris. Havent been back in 20 some years. Was last there when i was in the navy. Foreign travel is a little scary these days. enjoy your trip. I thoroughly enjoy your site

  6. Travel in other countries is not necessarily more dangerous than travel at home. And while terrorism is deplorable, the risk of encountering it is many times less than the risk of traffic accidents. And generally Paris is a very safe destination, to say nothing of smaller French cities and towns.

I may be travelling to Europe this summer; don’t know yet. Amsterdam, but I’ll try to get to Paris as well if I do. There is a fast train – Thalys Amsterdam-Brussels-Paris.

  7. We’re back in Paris now having arrived in France on March 10. The weather is much warmer than the Northeast USA and many flowers are already in bloom. Everyone is wearing either half boots or sneakers, and jeans. Every year people are dressed more and more casually it seems to me. I strongly recommend renting an apartment as it adds another dimension to your stay. We love strolling the markets selecting goodies to make for dinner.

You’ll be here when the days are extra-long so you can enjoy more of Paris. They turn the clocks forward here tonight.

  8. Don’t know when I’ll be back….but the photos ARE refreshing and beautiful. For now we are back and forth to Honolulu where my husband has taken a temporary part time job.

    1. Oh Honolulu, how fabulous! We haven’t been to Hawaii in about 15 years, keep talking about going back.

  9. OK – Swan/Anne here – I am free on Tuesday afternoons if you wish to meet up. I live in Paris nearly all the time. Wait to hear,
    A bien tôt.

  10. Beautiful photos! I’m going to Paris next week! I married a Parisian, which is the smartest thing a woman can do… that way you are guaranteed to go often.

  11. I am in Bordeaux right now after spending a few days first in Paris. Having an amazing time enjoying great food, wine and our
    dear friends.
The weather has been cool with a little bit of rain which is a nice change from the warm dry weather California has been
experiencing. I packed lightly in one carry on which has proven to be very convenient when taking the train from Paris
to Bordeaux. The only thing I wish I had brought was a sweatshirt for our exercise walking each morning. I have worn everything
except one pair of dressy sandals – not sandal weather yet!
