Eileen Fisher platform boots
Eileen Fisher

I had a chance to try these boots on yesterday, and have to say if your style has an edgy, playful component, run don’t walk to try for yourself. They are VERY comfortable, and add height without feeling as though you’re wearing a lot of heel. They run probably 1/2 size small, so if you’re between sizes go up, and if you want to wear thick socks with them, go 1/2 to a full size up. I’d wear these boots with skirts/tights, ankle pants, leggings and jeans. Eileen Fisher “Cosmos” booties, on sale for a limited time.

You may have had trouble accessing the blog Thursday. A software update caused some glitches, and with help from Kelly of Boost Interactive Media (whose expertise was instrumental in last year’s blog re-design), we’re it getting all back in order. 1. Karen, if I remember correctly those merino sweaters were upwards of $200 new. So I’d say if you like the sweater that’s a good deal! Merino wool is excellent for travel. It’s lightweight, insulating and (according to one travel writer) doesn’t capture and hold smells.

  1. Those boots are so great looking–unfortunately (for me) one review says “not for high insteps.” They are not as expensive as I thought they’d be. Can’t wait to see them on you (if you decide to keep).

    1. frugal, I have very high insteps and had no trouble at all getting them on, nor did I find them too snug. The leather is also quite soft and will probably stretch a little bit.

    1. Val, I agree they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. For me they have a certain jolie-laide appeal. 🙂
