all skate!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to all, and I wanted to highlight some pieces that I’d recommend now that I’ve done some boots-on-the-ground reconnaissance.
Let’s start with some Eileen Fisher. The sweater above is very similar to the one I’m wearing here. This has turned out to be a real wardrobe workhorse, as it hits that intersection of comfortable and polished. Also available in black. Plus sizes too.
These silk jersey tees are a staple, and do NOT go on sale often. Available in several colors in Misses and Petites. Plus size option here. These are excellent for travel and lightweight layering.
Another travel-friendly piece, these Eileen Fisher slim leg knit pants have vertical seams along the front and back for an elongating effect. A wide elastic waistband creates a smooth silhouette. My impression is that the fabric on these is (very) slightly more lightweight than their usual ponte knit, but they do have a nice drape. These would dress up or down with ease. Also available in Plus sizes.
Under $100 Superstars
This blouse from Foxcroft caught my eye, and I love that the dots have a bit of texture. Plus-size version here. I like the roll-tab sleeves that add styling options.
I was really impressed with this cardigan. It adds interesting texture, but is soft and not at all bulky. In Misses and Petites, also a burgundy color. Plus-size options here.
If you can wear a regular-width shoe, these are SO FREAKIN CUTE. And comfortable. Another looks-better-in-person option.
NYDJ slim boyfriend jeans in a non-distressed, mid-blue wash. The low-contrast stitching on these adds polish. Similar in Plus.
You will be amazed at how versatile a pair of dark grey jeans can be. I love the zippers on these from NYDJ (Misses and Petites). Available in Plus sizes too.
Yes, you can get less expensive lotion at the drugstore, but this is some really wonderful stuff. The large bottle lasts me a year. From Kiehl’s.
Back In Stock:
The rag & bone “Jennie” slim pants I’m wearing in yesterday’s outfit post are available again in a range of sizes, as of Friday morning.
These Paul Green ankle boots in the grey suede are back in stock in a good range of sizes.
Again, if there’s something you’ve been eyeing that had been sold out in your size or color, do check back now. It seems that many popular items have been restocked.
I’ve listed all of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks on my SHOP Page, organized by Clothing, Shoes, Bags/Accessories and Beauty/Miscellaneous.
Have you shopped the sale yet? Any great finds I’ve missed?

Excellent selections! I love Halogen shoes…I bought a pair in this sale last year!
I think those flats have to come live in my closet . Great selections, Sue. xo
Yes, I’ve already done my damage, although I used some restraint. I scored two skirts for work and fabulous vest for my daughter for back to school. 🙂

Beautiful pieces. I know gals who swear by NYDJ (Not Your Daughter’s Jeans). Do they have any tops for mermaids? (I just did a mermaid photoshoot.)
Thanks for doing all the work of sifting through and saving us some time! I really like the cut on the ankle boots and have a real need to add some grey footwear to my winter collection.

Just bought a pair of Born “Helen” boots (also in wide calf). Winter is coming.
😀
I can attest to how wonderful Kiehl’s Creme de Corps is. Amazing stuff.
The Paul Green ankle boots are gorgeous! I was in Nordstrom shoes yesterday, not sure how I managed to miss them.
I got the Foxcroft blouse, thanks to your superb eye for style. It’s very well made, feels soft on the skin, the textured dots are cute, and it’s got mother-of-pearl buttons. Great find!
So glad to hear you like it! Thanks for letting us know.
I got the EF pants today, and they look pretty good on me (XS), but not sure about the length. Where are they are supposed to hit? Susan, others? I am a skirt girl just trying to do pants now … am about 5″4 1/4 or 1/2 and my legs are not short, but should I shorten these? Unfortunately I don’t live near a Nordstrom for the free hemming, but I could go to a tailor in NYC. I’d like to wear the pants with ankle boots or sandals, probably with a one- to two-inch heel. Right now they are about a bit less than an inch above my heel (not wearing shoes).
Thanks to anyone who can clue me in!
Judy, I find I sometimes have to hem even petite length pants if they don’t hit where I want them to. My preference for wearing with ankle boots is for the pants to hit about 1-1.5″ above my ankle bone, at least high enough to clear the top of the boots with a little bit of space.
Merci!
