I’ve always loved the look of a classic pump with jeans. Sadly I can no longer wear my 2-3″ stiletto heels and have missed this combo. But the current crop of lower, block heel pumps has me thinking I might be able to come up with a new iteration of this look…
I find a 2-2.5″ block heel is comfortable and easy to walk in, and lately I’ve seen lots of options in this style and heel height.
Those above from Chloé in gorgeous burgundy suede are pricey, but stunning and will elevate whatever you’re wearing.
Anyi Lu shoes always get high marks for comfort, and these pumps in a metallic houndstooth finish also have quite the Wow Factor.
Ferragamo Vara’s are a perennial classic, and this blue patent is a nice change from black.
I love this cognac patent number from Clarks. Yes, Clarks. That heel may look high but according to the description it’s only 2.5″. I think these would look SO cute with jeans and a sweater.
If your shoe collection is suffering from a leopard deficiency, this style from Cole Haan is on sale right now. (Other colors available too.)
Ankle straps from Calvin Klein…these would look great with longer skirts or cropped pants too.

I finally found a stylish heel I can wear though it is not a pump. it is on my blog today. Thank goodness we are beginning to see more options on the market for our feet. There are so really cute ones here.
Nice selection of shoes…the Calvin Klein and the Clarke’s win my vote. 😉

I’m sitting right next to you on this one! Love the long lean look of jeans and pumps. I just ordered a pair of 2 inch pumps with a thin heel and I will give them a test drive when they arrive. Snake skin, and I hope I can at least wear them out to dinner and on short jaunts. They are definitely not “let’s go shopping/museum shoes”. I do like the alternatives you posted. Very classy and comfortable too!
Oh, I can SO see you in those Clarks! I have worn Anyi Lu and find them very well-made as well as comfortable. Cap toe+bow is a girly style that some women can wear wonderfully (it helps to have relatively small feet) but when I think of you in your recent WIWs I don’t see them as “you” (unless you dig out those ruffle-edged Pure cashmeres?)

I have bought two pair of the chunky heels for this fall. I think they look great with jeans – skinny and boot cut. i went for the bucket toe look instead of cap toe/bow for a more grown up version (very Ines). All you choices are lovely.
Absolutely! to the Clarks although I’m holding off on heels for now, waiting to see what retirement means in terms of shoes-lifestyle fit. I have a pair of low (about an inch) block-heeled black Repettos I bought a few years ago and somehow don’t wear as much as I’d thought I would….

I have a pair of Amalfi shoes which are virtual clones to those Ferragamos…short sturdy heels and they are very comfortable for walking…like you my days of high heels are long gone!

I can’t wear stilettos either:(. But those Calvin Kleins look a lot like the Valentino Tangos, with the ankle strap, and those I find I can wear. I won’t, for every day, because, retired, but they don’t hurt on the occasions when I want to gussy up.
This post really resonated with me. I’m so happy to see these beautiful shoes with lower heels!!!! I formerly wore high heels and recently, at age 75, moved to a high wedge as a more comfortable option. Then a fractured ankle moved me way down in height. Thanks so much.
What a welcome change in footwear. I certainly do not miss the pain at the end of the day from wearing stilettos!!
Check out Munro. Known for comfort AND style. At Nordstrom’s. Love the Anyi Lu. I feel,like the more stream lined toe works best to capture the similar effect of the stiletto.

Love the Clarkes shoes. They remind me of a pair that I had in high school. Definitely a trend I will wear again.
I love the solid footing I get with a block heel. I don’t have many shoes like that, but I know this is the way of the future for me. And flatforms. I like a beautiful shoe with jeans as well.
I think maybe this is one of those looks my eye will have to get accustomed to; right now, when I see the block heel I’m thinking either 1970s, or elderly ladies! Of the above pictured, the Clarks look the best. I can still wear stilettos for short periods of time, but if I have to walk or stand for a while, I’ve been trying out wedges. Problem there, is that I really only like espadrille wedges!
I am so enthralled to see these shoes becoming popular, since I too have had multiple foot/ankle injuries and surgeries which have seriously impaired my ability to wear any “real” heel. Not quite as sexy, but comfortable and safe is much sexier than an orthopedic ankle boot from one’s podiatrist!
I am on a bit of a shopping ban but I want those Anyi Lu shoes so badly it’s a bit painful.
My goodness I’m so glad I’m not the only having to think carefully before deciding if I can wear my 3.5″ stilettos. A kitten heel at 1.25-1.5 inches can be a bit dowdy and something in the 2-2.5 inch range with a stiletto heel is impossible to find. Personally I think there’s a gap in our options. Someone needs to start making shoes in the 2-2.5 range which gives us more options then dowdy or sky high! Deb M
Nice choices. I can’t wear stilettos any more either, and am questioning even a 2 to.2 1/2 inch heel. I’ll have to see how that works out over time. But I like your choices here, and will have to check out the Anya Lu. The Calvin Klein’s look nice also.

As a mature adult female with a bit of arthritis and some other foot problems I am delighted to read about shoes that I could actually wear. I don’t want to wear old lady shoes !!!
So many photos in fashion shoots, even with older women as their target audience have models wearing impossible heels !
