a busy (but fun) week…

partners in crime

OK, so I’m a bad, bad blogger. I promised to take lots of pictures from Tish’s book signing event, and instead got so caught up with talking to Tish, and bloggers Lisa, Jennifer, Kim and The Contessa, as well as the lovely and amazing women we met during the event that except for this one instance, I completely forgot about photos! Did I mention the interesting, stylish, accomplished and amazing women who showed up, many of whom drove a considerable distance? (waving to all of our blog readers who came…it was such a thrill to meet you!) Delightful, each and every one! Many thanks to Lisa, who picked me up at the airport, stayed all day and dropped me back off after dinner. Other than the fact that my flight home was delayed by an hour, it was a fabulous day!

Tish is already back in Chicago (sniff!) so our next get-together will have to be next summer in Paris.

Worth a mention: Nordstrom appears to be having another big sale, including lots of Eileen Fisher. My favorite long cardigan is on sale, as well as this ribbed cashmere turtleneck in a lovely soft grey.

Scarves? Yes, those too, including this cashmere-silk style in several colors.

Fall, and cooler weather have finally arrived in Southern California. I’m reveling in it. Scarves, sweaters, and boots? Oh my yes.

I’m hoping to be caught up with myself in the next day or two. Right now I’m just running on caffeine and sheer force of will. 😉

Bon weekend!

  1. I had such a good time with you, Jennifer, Kim, Elizabeth, and, of course, the gracious and beautiful Tish. To say nothing of the incredible readers we met. In fact, this photo, in which I am grinning from ear to ear, probably sums it up:):.

  2. Sounds like a fantastic event and that’s a gorgeous photo of you and Lisa. I am exactly the same, always too busy enjoying myself to take photos – which is so much better than doing it vicariously on social media.

  3. Wasn’t it wonderful? As you say here, the women. . .interesting, intelligent, kind, funny, supportive. So many were talking about what they want to do “next” which is so inspiring. I will never be able to properly thank everyone who came to the event, from near and far. All of our conversations were fascinating. This wonderful friendship that grows up in the blogging community is extraordinary. Who among us could have imagined such a miracle?

It was so exciting for me to meet not only the bloggers I know so well, but also the women engaged us in such spirited conversation.
I’m already starting to miss you, but one of my favorite things is anticipating fun, future events. So, now I can start thinking about your arrival in Paris next year and planning something special for us.

    Thank you, thank you!

    xo,
    Tish

  4. It was a fabulous event and wonderful to meet you! Hopefully, next time we will have a bit more time to chat! Tish is fabulous! I adored her book, but her sparklig personality is infectious! Popping over to check out the sale. You always find the best things!
