Fifty Ways to Wear a Sweater

#4 – Draped over the shoulders, when it’s just a little to warm to wear a sweater, and just a little too cool to go without. (Brown jeans, red patent Ferragamo “Audrey” flats. I’ve loved pairing brown and grey ever since I started reading The Sartorialist.)

  1. Ok already about the sweater…tell us about that fantastic scarf! I need something between wool or cashmere and silk, for the coming warm weather and my casual lifestyle. Any good shopping sites to pass along? I mean, that don’t sell vintage Hermes?

  2. dana – the scarf is from Printemps department store in Paris. It’s their store brand, and cotton, so it’s light and not too warm. I’ve seen similar in department store accessories departments, or the kiosks at the mall. If you have any Indian markets/clothing stores near you, that’s another place to look, especially for pieces with a little bit of metallic threading.

  3. You make jeans look very elegant, Pseu. I can never manage to wear the sweater-over-the-shoulder very convincingly, but you’ve pulled it off (or, um, kept it on, I guess). I love shopping for scarves in Printemps where there is so, so much selection at reasonable price points. That one looks like a really versatile find.
