Whatever you do…
…if you don’t want your dreams to be haunted, don’t let the Sales Associate talk you into trying these on, unless you have a spare thou’ lying around somewhere.

Yummm, besides looking great, I can only imagine how wonderful the rabbit fur feels. But to keep the cravings at bay, I’m going to wonder how well it wears, not the most practical fur, really, is it? (If you know otherwise, just don’t tell me, ‘kay?)
That fur would get all matted. I like these, which, by comparison, seem cheap: http://www.garnethill.com/gentle-souls-double-buckle-boot/womens-fashion/footwear/boots/18603.
Would love to know–do those super expensive boots feel better than regular old boots?
Those boots look very ok for Scandinavia, if one has to spend time outside a lot, and if the inside were lamb wool. Practical, but not pretty.
materfamilias – oh, they’re probably quite impractical, which is what kept me from even thinking of buying them. I think I was mostly just so surprised by how much I liked them when I tried them on, being something I wouldn’t have looked at twice on the shelf.
Frugal Scholar – you’re right, of course. Those garnet hill boots are definitely a more workable option if one were going for this style.
metscan – no, they’re not pretty or practical. They do look and feel pretty cool on, though. But don’t worry, they stayed at the store.
Those are gorgeous. So luxe and so tempting…drool.
I was going to ask you if this was an audience-targeted or personalized lust…as they didn’t seem much like you (to me, anyway!).
Guess I really do learn something new every day!
What are they made from? They’re fuzzy!
Not very practical for the beach, though.
Well, I’m already under the spell of a pair of Argila boots and a pair of Fiorentini and Bakers (I’m looking at YOU, PedShoes!). Not a thousand but way more than I’ve ever spent on a pair of boots. I just have to keep looking at my checking account balance.
They don’t look like something I’d be thinking about trying on but I’m guessing that once on they feel wonderful and change your mind?
All – that’s just the thing…I love boots but this is a style I just hadn’t given a second look. But they looked SO COOL on, and were SO comfortable, that this style (though not this price) is now on my radar. Coming soon, a Look For Less post! (Thanks, Frugal Scholar for a good starting point!)
The boots are to die for. Are they lined in sheepskin? I think they look both current and classic and would work wonders with slim ponte pants.
I bought a pair of short Clarks motorcycle boots (style name “Orinocco Dip”) for last winter, since I do a lot of tromping around on campus, and my pretty shoes just don’t cut it if there’s snow on the ground. They stood up to a lot, even puddles.
Don’t know if they’re available in black this year – I’ve seen them in brown and sand at Zappos – but it’s worth having a look. They also only have a single buckle, not two, but under a pair of trousers, I think a shorter boot is a better look, at least for me and my short pins.
I recommend Born’s “Miriam” boot as another flattering (albeit single-buckled) alternative.
@Rubiotanta, I love that: “short pins!”
Come back to Vancouver and get yourself to Daytons, Ms. Pseu, for the penultimate Motorcycle boot
