Paris: Shop Windows

We spent most of Saturday “licking the windows” (and doing a little bit of actual shopping too…in addition to picking up some gifts to bring home, I did some serious damage in Zadig & Voltaire).  Apologies for the glare on the windows, but I just couldn’t figure out how to mitigate.

These pivoines took my breath away
A different florist, equally as gorgeous
Ladurée
Maille mustards, a must-stop for us each trip

Hermès
Hermès encore
Yes, those are crocodile Birkins.  Almost obscene, aren’t they?
Glassware at Hermès
Don’t remember the name of this chocolatier, but they had a tribute to Calder theme going.
Wild ‘n’ crazy lunettes

And some shoes from the Wild Child herself, Sonia Rykiel
Can you believe it? Those rhinestone-studded brogues are actually Church’s!
Roger Vivier

Stunning umbrellas and gloves…

Clever teapots
Debauve & Gallais, the oldest chocolatier in Paris
At another chocolatier, Paul Hevin.

And on that tantalizing note, we’re off to dinner!

Edited to add:

This one was actually in Aix-en-Provence, but so clever I wanted to show you.

(Note the name of the store in the reflection: Jules & Jim.)

  1. Well, while you have been lusciously lecheing the vitrines, we are just barely able to not lick our computer screens. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous images! Ah, the piviones, aren’t they just achingly beautiful?

  2. thank you for this lovely shopping trip today!!! I am getting more and more excited about my upcoming trip in the Fall!! xo kathysue

  3. I am overwhelmed by the variety and price points I can only guess. I love the same when visiting NYC. I can browse the windows and occasionally go in, find something I like and can afford, and move on. It’s entertainment.

  4. Thank you, Pseu, for the fabulous picture tour of your Parisien day. I’m getting excited as well for my upcoming trip to Prague and Vienna in June. Will return to Paris in the Fall. Hope there are lot’s more pictures of your adventures. p.s. I have a brand new Eagle Creek carry on bag ready and waiting!

  5. Makes me want to book Eurostar tickets. And yes, Church’s have been running the rhinestones for a couple of seasons – I keep pointing them out to Mr TNMA, he hasn’t taken the hint (yet!)

  6. I always like the florist windows the best. And I love how–per French law–all items from the humble to the opulent must have their prices displayed. Even those croc bags.

  7. Great pics… True temptation! I hope the rain has stopped and made it easier to wander out and about… Have a wonderful time.. and Gago… in Aix… that is the best shop of all! xv

  8. Isn’t is wonderful the complete spare-ness of the shop windows? And, yes the croc handbags are obscene, but if I had the funds I would probably have one, maybe…well, I don’t know as they do call attention to you don’t they?

  9. This kind of traveling I like. You do the walking, talking and shopping, and I get to sit in my armchair and enjoy, not having to pay a cent ; ).
I can only imagine how frustrating it would be for me, to get to visit Hermes and leave without a shopping bag, as everything is so expensive over there.
Hopefully you spend your money wisely : ).

  10. I really like the outfit the Panda is wearing and is it really obscene that I want that crocodile Birkin!!!
You are the best for taking us along on your trip! 🙂
