Room With A View

Construction modules..refurbishing hotel next door

OK, not so much of a view this time. But our room itself…WOW.

We arrived late Friday afternoon after one long flight and one short one. Other than some serious congestion at Heathrow going through security (they make you go through again even if you’re just connecting) everything was on time and went smoothly.

After checking in and getting our bearings in this huge room (thanks to le monsieur’s work connections, though we never expected anything this opulent) we took a stroll around the neighborhood before dinner.  And what a neighborhood!

Dinner at Jamin was incroyable! Exactly what we were looking for after a long trip: delicious, not too much or too heavy.

Though it was raining and the bar was closed, we had to visit the terrace atop the Hotel Raphael, just for a few minutes of this view.

Plain…
Avec sparkles.

À demain we hop on the train to Aix-en-Provence. To be continued…
