Excellent Boots

Paul Green Ventura
Paul Green “Ventura”

So as part of a closet re-organization the other night I did a Boot-ventory. I’d purchased last year’s version of this Paul Green boot in black, and having just tried it on again have to say it’s one of the most stinkin’ comfortable bits of footwear I’ve ever owned. Good looking piece of business too.

My experience with Paul Green is that many styles run 1/2 size large and this is not an exception.

More Paul Green boots here. Your feet will thank you.

Edited to add: my sister kindly offered these lyrics, sung to the tune of “Excellent Birds” by Laurie Anderson and Peter Gabriel…

Put them on your feet!  They’re comfy!
But they run a half size large…LOOKOUT!

  1. I own two pairs of Paul Green ankle boots–although not the Ventura, alas–and I enthusiastically second that endorsement. Beautifully made, comfortable, timeless.

Unlike you, I had to size up half a size.

  2. When I was in France this August, Chelsea boots were everywhere for Fall, with all sorts of interesting details on the heel. I need new boots, as my ancient Blundstones finally gave up the ghost this year, and I need a replacement. I loved them, but I wish they’d up the style quotient. I like La Canadienne, too, but I’ll check these out.

    1. Lisa,

They do have that similar styling, but have a more tapered toe and a lower heel (both plusses in my book) and as KPL mentioned, don’t have the dip across the top front.

  3. Paul Green are my favorites for comfort, so when I can find something stylish and not black (I’m trying to wean myself from black, which is not flattering to me), I get them. Thank you for doing the research for me!
