what to wear: book signing

what to wear book signing

I’m jetting off later this morning to the Bay Area today to see Tish and attend her book signing at the Bianco Christmas Open House! Keeping it simple in black with some touches of blue. If you’re going to wear head-to-toe black, look for pieces with some interesting details (like the split back on the sweater) and mix textures.

Shown above: earrings | scarf (similar) | lipstick | sweater | pants | watch | ring | bag (similar) | boots

In addition to seeing Tish again, I’m looking forward to seeing Lisa (blog: Privilege) as well as meeting Jennifer (blog: A Well Styled Life) and possibly The Vintage Contessa! (Edited to add, also met the lovely Kim of Northern California Style.)

Because I’m just traveling for the day, no luggage other than a tote bag, and I’ll add a some lightweight outerwear. I’ll try to take lots of pictures, and will update on Instagram as I’m able. Look for a full recap on Friday.

  1. Oh I’m so jealous! Definitely a meeting of the minds….the fashions minds. You and Alyson and Lisa and Jennifer. All my morning “daily reads” in one place. You’ll look fab in black as usual…and that flowered scarf and bag are lovely. Sigh. I’m going to sit here and imagine the conversation you ladies are having… and pretend I’m there.

    1. Akkkk. I can’t believe I messed that comment up. I meant Tish, not Alyson. I guess it’s because I knew that Alyson was in the States too. I’ve been reading both their blogs for ages.

  2. The modern version of, “Hey, what are you wearing to this!?!?” I’m thinking that I have to bring out the Dries in Tish’s honor. Of course, it’s mostly black;).

  3. You will look great! I was trying to buy the book in Brussels, but alas not available! I hope it will be in the shops here this season. Have a good time with Tish, Sue! You both are my favorite bloggers! Big hug!

  4. I imagine it was a fabulous day – the weather is perfect up here today. I was hoping to meet you all but unfortunately I teach on Mondays and Wednesdays – I’ll have to pretend I was there when I see the photos. I am planning on stopping by the shop in Los Gatos this weekend and will pick up a couple of copies of the book as Christmas gifts.

By the way, I love you in that plaid shawl!

  5. I had a fabulous afternoon. It was like meeting old friends at a high school reunion. Susan, it was such a pleasure to meet you–you are so warm and genuine. I hope there will be other occasions. And everyone looked great.

  6. So fun meeting finally in person! I wish we all had more time! What great ideas here for a day trip. I am leaving for one today so I am hoping I can take some tips and look as chic as you did yesterday! You are even prettier in person and as kind as you are lovely! xo Kim
