Accessories Update: The French Kande Fall Collection

favorites from French Kande fall jewelry collectionEver since I visited the French Kande studio in June and got a sneak peek at the gorgeous pieces Kande was designing for Fall, I’ve been chomping at the bit to see the full collection online and be able to share it with you. It’s here, and just as fabulous as I remembered!

This season, there are actually two new collections:

  • “Tuileries,” featuring some new vintage medallions and stones such as garnet and serpentine which harmonize nicely with autumn colors. For those who love brooches, she’s also added a few to the mix!
  • “Initiale,” which offers several styles of necklaces and bracelets with a medallion that can be customized with your initial.

All of these are designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, and each piece is individually made on order.

Shown above, some of the pieces that caught my eye immediately:

  1. 29″ Garnet Mix with Grande Fleur pendant. This would complement and layer nicely with vintage medallion pieces.
  2. Centennial Heart Stack Medallion brooch. Love that there are now brooches in the collection! Cool new medallion too.
  3. Triple-strand labradorite with Bravoure medallion. Neutral and subtle, but those faceted beads catch the light nicely.
  4. 30″ Swarovski crystal necklace with initial pendant. Add your initial to this elegant pendant with black diamond cabuchons.
  5. 28″ Forest Mix beads with Daalder medallion. Beautiful mix of stone beads, and I love that the medallion was created for a master coffee roaster…Ok, so this one just may be in my shopping cart…

A few of you have asked me if I had to pick one French Kande necklace to start with, what I would choose. That’s a tough question, as it depends on your style and metal/color preferences. But I would suggest one of the mid-length (26″ to 30″) necklaces as a starter piece. I like this length worn on its own, and find it easiest to layer with other longer or shorter pieces. If you don’t wear necklaces, the bracelets, rings and (now) brooches are fun choices, and look great worn in multiples.

Even if you don’t want to layer, each of these pieces on their own are bold and will get noticed. I’m complimented on my French Kande pieces whenever I wear them, by women (and men!) of all ages.

Do you like to layer your jewelry, or wear sparingly?

  1. The French Kande mewelery is beautiful. My favorite jewelery is from Judithbright.com
It is very light weight, comes in either gold or silver, and is very easy to layer.

  2. I really love the French Kande line and may or may not have dropped hints for any and all gift giving occasions! When you layer, I’d love to know the lengths of each piece for reference in order to achieve a similar look.

  3. Thanks to seeing French Kande on your blog, I now own 4 pieces — all the result of hints to my DH, who is much relieved to know there is a reliable source for gifts I will love and wear a lot. Only issue is the need to pay in Canadian funds and pick up across the border in USA.

  4. I love my Frenche Kande pieces too. I so far have 4 pieces–1 ring, 1 bracelet, 2 necklaces, and receive compliments about them all the time. I’m definitely looking into adding to my collection so will check out the fall line soon!

  5. I bought my first FK necklace after seeing it on you, Susan. My husband then surprised me with another necklace for my birthday. I find that I wear the longer one more often– 34″ maybe, rather than the 29″. I’m tallish and large-chested, so the 29″ often “hits” in the wrong place. I love the layered look but haven’t been brave enough to try it yet. Thinking I need another necklace!

  6. Saw this jewelry on the Carla Carlson blog shoot–thanks for all the great info. Btw, love the black sandals with the front fringe tassel you wore on the shoot. Who are they by? Thanks!

  7. I love the look of French Kande jewelry, but can’t afford it right now. However, I make my own jewelry and recycle old family costume pieces. Inspired by French Kande, I put one of my favorite old pendants on a long string of very old glass pearls I received from my grandmother. Voila! That said, there’s no substitute for the beautiful pendants created by FK. I’d love to have one someday.

  8. Susan thanks for the tip about purchasing Frenche Kande jewelry for a starter-gal like me. Love so many of the pieces I have trouble deciding.

    BTW—you wear the jewelry beautifully.

    1. Hi Jeanne, the medallions that inspired the line and that are used in the jewelry are actual French medallions, dating to mid-century. Kande found them at the marché aux puces. The jewelry itself is designed and manufactured in the US.

  9. I just ordered my first piece of French Kande after seeing it on your blog. Thank you so much for introducing me to the line. Merci beaucoup!
