Beauty Gifts Without The Guesswork

Beauty gifts she'll love!

I always enjoy receiving gifts of beauty products. Who doesn’t love a little pampering, and a chance to try something new? But beauty gifts can be tricky to choose if you aren’t sure of which fragrance (if any) they like or which skincare lines or products they prefer.

I like to give gifts I think the recipients will actually use. So I’ve pulled together a few suggestions that might appeal to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Some of these would make great stocking stuffers, or you could include a few in a custom gift basket…

  1. This lip smother and primer helps lip color last longer and stay put. The sculptural gold case is lovely, and makes this a pleasure to use.
  2. Winter cold and dryness can do a number on our hands. This rich cream strengthens nails and conditions cuticles. (I’ve begun using at bedtime, and have already noticed a difference in my cuticles.)
  3. Pure indulgence! A silk sleep mask
  4. I love a good travel brush set, and this one is really nice.
  5. I’ve been using this sugar scrub twice weekly for several months now and am amazed at how much smoother my skin feels. Smells heavenly too. (The Lip Polish is also great for smoothing and conditioning winter-chapped lips.)

Have you ever received a beauty product as a gift that you continued to buy for yourself?

  1. Yes, several years ago a friend gifted me with Niven Morgan Jean Baptiste 1717 fragrance products. My favorite is the bath soak crystals. The fragrance is heavenly and relaxing, my skin loves it, and the nightly ritual promises a good night’s sleep.

  2. I first used the Dior Apricot Cuticle cream years ago, in college, when a friend had this unheard of luxury. I recently realized that ‘hey, I can afford this little pot of awesome cream’ and bought it for myself. Nothing beats it for the dry peeling nails and cuticles of a forced air heat house!

  3. I will also testify that the Dior cuticle cream is worth every penny–and I’ve tried everything! HIghly recommend.

  4. I was gifted the Sugar lip polish. It seems expensive, but lasts for a long time. My lips are soft and my husband always gives a little “oooh” when I kiss him after a polish. Who wouldn’t love that?

  5. Years ago someone gave me L’Occitane hand cream, which I’ve been using ever since. I love the feel and the smell. There are smaller tubes for handbag or travel which I use, too. The sets make great gifts this time of year.

  6. The Dior cuticle cream is often recommended by sales staff as the best lip treatment there is. It is somewhat sticky and messy but if you apply it before bed you will wake up with very plump, soft lips! For those interested in hand cream might I suggest Brazilian Bum Bum cream. It is not too pricey and whilst not marketed as a hand cream it beats L’occitane hands down (pardon the pun).
