Catching Up…

imprinted leather luggage tags

It’s been a bit hectic here the last couple of days. Trying to plan for two trips within a week of each other (each with very different packing requirements), has been challenging, to say the least. I’m playing a bit of catch up here today, with a couple of things I’ve been meaning to share.

First up, how cool are those leather luggage tags (above) my sister made for me as a birthday gift? They’ll be going along with me on both trips! Thanks, Sis!!

Second, also travel related: I’ve been determined to include some non-black footwear in my travel wardrobe for Italy.

distressed sequin sneakers

These slip-on sneakers covered in paillette sequins may make the cut. I’ve been wearing them almost constantly the last few days, and they definitely pass the comfort test. They’re also fun and funky enough to liven up my simple travel outfits. They might look delicate, but they really aren’t and the more roughed up those sequins get, the more character they have. (They’re also available in navy if you prefer a darker color.)

Oh, and I went for the pixie. Next time you see me, my hair will be much shorter. 😉

Counting down the days now until we leave for Italy!! Look for that travel wardrobe next Tuesday.

  1. I can’t imagine the damage I could do to those sequined shoes – for some reason, if I get a shoe with any sort of ornament, I destroy them in about 2 days…
And your sister could make a small business from those luggage tags – I warmly covet a few of them…

  2. Love those luggage tags! I am eager to see your new pixie cut too. It will be an easy style for your travel plans. You really do know how to pack so i have every confidence in your ability to be dressed for the weather.

  3. I LOVE that Mark Twain quote on the travel tags. Was not familiar with it…what cool tags! Have fun on the trips!

  4. The cute slip-on sneakers wouldn’t make the cut for me for Italy. Not hard-core enough for walking all day and not dressy enough for dinner. I’ll be interested to see how they work for you.

  5. Love the tags! You and your sister share a flair for the creative. I love Paul Green shoes and I think the distressed aspect of these make them au courant – the comfort is just extra. Sneakers of all kinds do seem to be on trend with the athleisure influenced styles in abundance. Can’t wait to see the wardrobe!

  6. Styling short, straight hair….Blow dry, grab a dab of hair wax and rub hands together to distribute wax. Zhush (sp?) hair from underneath for volume with both hands. Use your hands to get the hair where you want it, and spray for hold.Takes no time at all…

  7. A pixie? Oh, I can’t wait to see it. Those shoes are a mystery in the best possible way. They almost look like honey in honeycombs. No wonder you must take them on your trip, right? Or not. But they are pretty cool. Oh, you are such an adventurer!

  8. Oh, those luggage tags! I covet them!

Funny — I just posted that Mark Twain quote (the longer one) on my FB timeline yesterday. Lately I’m so feeling its truth.
