Because Who Wouldn’t Love Some Summer Accessories On Sale Right About Now…

Missoni on sale!

sunnies | espadrilles | poncho (yes, Missoni!)

I’m popping in on my day off just to give you a heads up that Net-A-Porter launched a big sale. While there’s some of the expected designer “cray,” I was able to find lots of moderately priced goodies on my initial pass. I focused here on shoes and accessories, but do take a look if there’s anything you’ve had your eye on.

  1. That Missoni poncho! I always meander through Nordstrom and that poncho, or a similar one by Missoni, was always on my imaginary GET list. The next best thing, I bought some very similar fabric to try and make my own. The fabric languishes. Maybe now it’s time to give it a go. A poncho, right? How hard can that be? Hahaha.

    1. Melanie, go for it! You’ve done some much more complicated sewing projects…I’ll bet you could bring your own signature “twist” to a poncho.

  2. Love the poncho! But then I love most things Missoni. Even my bath towels are Missoni! Best wishes from Aix-en-Provence, where we’ve just arrived for another visit. Pamela

  3. Neither the “Missoni” poncho nor the stripy, fussy top appeal to me. The “Missoni” is so passé and the stripy top is simply not ” chic”. Keep it simple folks! Less is more! A well cut linen chemise and cropped pants in neutral or color, loosely belted (or not), will always be chic and will travel well. One caveat: Brigitte Bardot looked fabulous in the splendidly embroidered and super light Romanian peasant blouses, and so, if you think you look like BB, by all means, go ahead!

  4. I bought a couple of pair of espadrilles very similar to the Isabel Marant, but with navy and blue tonings. I was sceptical that they might look a bit ‘old lady’, but received many compliments on them. Fortunately, they weren’t quite as pricey as Marants.
