Foulard de la semaine

Monday night was the maiden voyage for this plissé scarf. The photo doesn’t do justice to the colors in this scarf which range from leaf green to olive green to teal to brown to a very pale yellowish green border. But even the photos on the Hermès website don’t capture the vibrance of the colors, so it’s not just my mediocre photography skills.

(And no, I didn’t purchase this recently in further violation of my alleged spending moratorium. :-p I’d bought a scarf at the Madison Avenue store when I was in NY on business in May, but once I got it home, realized the colors just weren’t right for me so recently exchanged it once I saw this one in the case.)

  1. Dejapseu: Plissé scarves are my favourite although I have never had to give one for drycleaning yet so I don’t know if it retains its, um, shape?

Very pretty colours. I am already thinking about the Autumn/ Winter 😉

  2. Shefaly & anonymous: You send them back to Hermes for repleating. They hold their shape for years, mine is 3 yrs old and looks fine. Store in tiny hatbox they came in, in a coil.

  3. miss janey – thanks. I just love the colors in this one.

    wendyb – thank you.

shefaly – I’d probably take it to the Hermès boutique and have them clean it.

  4. anon – Thanks, I’ll check out that Yahoo group.

savvy mode – true, there’s just no equal when it comes to the vibrancy of the Hermès colors.

duchesse – I’ve finally figured out how to roll them up correctly so they go back in the box without crushing the pleats!

  5. Duchesse and Dejapseu:

Thanks. Mine is 9 years old and I did not use it much – may be 2 or 3 times. I roll and keep it in the original box. But now that I know I can take it to me, I can use it more. 🙂 Thanks.
