Foulard de la semaine
The weather has turned blessedly cooler, cool enough to pull out the silks again. I know it won’t last, so I’m enjoying while I can.
I tried something a bit different with this one. Usually I fold diagonally into an oblong shape to start, but this time I rolled in from opposite sides, and then tied in a single knot. Surprisingly, it stayed in place all day without fiddling.

This is my standard tie, like how it shows the border, stays in place and draws the eye up. You can also knot it from there to almost a ‘bow tie’ effect.

Looks very simple and clean — features the hem/border very nicely. That scarf is perfect for fall — all the leaves changing colour. I don’t s’pose they do that much where you are, do they?

That is one of the loveliest scarves I have ever seen! Very interesting way to wear it too, you will be getting into the origami next.
I am so happy that summer is seeming like it is on the decline so we can bring out the scarves and maybe even the sweaters. Le sigh!

materfamilias – thanks! We don’t get the fall foliage in great volume, but some trees will turn color (though far less vivid than in cooler climes) any time from late Oct – late Nov. I planted a Liquidamber tree in my backyard just for some autumn color.
