  1. Excellent posts lately, I’m really enjoying them!
I’m tempted by the Quince silk tank/cami. It looks short though-I dread exposure when I lift my arms.
    Thoughts?
    Thank you.

  2. A post with my favorite neutral colors
I find a lot of sweaters and tees in nice neutral brown and beige/white colors on Buck Mason website. Great quality at good price point.

Their sweatshirts/sweatpants are very comfy too.

  3. Susan,
Would the utility v neck cardigan “utility green” color be good for autumn or is it more spring’ish’ ?

  4. Since you’ve featured a few handbags in today’s blog, what are your thoughts on carrying handbags according to body shape? I had never thought much about this until the last year or so and had always leaned towards satchel/top handles and crossbodies, with an occasional tote thrown into the mix. I’ve stayed away from anything oversize for my 5’2, 8P frame. I am a pear shape which means shoulder bags that sit above waist and clutch bags are supposed to be the most flattering for me. I must admit that when I carry either of the two shoulder bags I own, it’s a good look for me. Just like we have our best colors, it seems we each have handbags that look best, but as you say tools not rules.

    1. Hi Carol, when it comes to handbags, I don’t think body shape is as important as functionality and Style Personality.

  5. I enjoy your blog, but I wonder how someone like me, in a small, 1920s home with limited closet space, can manage in a similar fashion. How do you accommodate & house your wardrobe? Thanks!

    1. Hi Florence, I have one small walk-in closet, and a few drawers. I edit regularly but probably have a larger wardrobe than most people, as “style is my business.” 😉

  6. I recently found a white t-shirt while exploring Rouen in Normandy. The weather had been chaotic…sun, heavy rain showers…repeat. There is a golden outline of a flower and the words…”Pas de fleurs sans pluie.” Particularly apt when walking amongst Monet’s colourful gardens of Giverny. There was a heavy rain shower there as well, followed by sun. Ditto in Honfleur. By following your guidelines for travel, this past solo trip was easier , coordinating outfits using White Stuff, Athleta, and scarves for interest. Voila!

  7. Good Morning, I’ve been eyeing the Madewell mahogany scarf for several of your posts and just ordered. I’m a scarf aficianado (sp) and cant wait to receive. (I wear a scarf everyday). Thanks, you have great style.

  8. I appreciate these choices but don’t identify with them and couldn’t wear them. Your picks tend to cover classic and gamine styles suitable for trim bodies but do not branch out into other styles as I wish they would. You cover beautifully all of the seasonal color options but stay within a narrow lane for styles. Please consider this request from a loyal reader.

      1. Well, romantic, bohemian, artsy, flowy. I have what is called an apple shaped figure and am not able to wear tailored clothes with defined waists. Softer styles look and feel better on me. I think there are a lot of women of this certain age with similar needs.
Thank you for responding and considering my request.

  9. Hi! I’ve been following your blog the last several weeks, and it’s really inspired me to up my style and color game. 🙂 Thank you for all of your good suggestions!

  10. WOW…..great post today!! I live in the Pacific Northwest and spring has been slow to arrive. I’m ready for some nicer weather and you’ve given me a perfect jumping off point. I already own the AG ex-boyfriend slouchy slim jean so adding some fresh tees and sweaters will do the trick. Thank you!!
