Ruby Slippers
Many of you commented positively about the red patent pumps from the Talbot’s Fall Lookbook.
Cole Haan, $209.95. (I have these in black and can attest to their comfort.)
Stuart Weitzman, $298. (If you can tolerate a 4″ heel, these are super sexy!)
Stuart Weitzman, $325. (Lower heel and slightly rounded toe.)
Choos! On Sale! (Click picture on this one.)

I clicked the Choos…mmm who doesn’t love red shoes?
Dorothy was way ahead of her time!
Cosmic! Just last week, I brought home a pair of gorgeous Steve Madden slingback platform high heels in cherry red patent leather–I had to have them. They made my shortish sturdy legs look— well– longish! AND they were startlingly comfortable. Talk about confusing– I almost left them in the store, I couldn’t fathom how it could be possible, until some guy walking by said “Those look great on you!” And he wasn’t the staff! After that I had to… what a pushover I am. Non, je ne regrette pas…
Ooh nice selection. I like the Cole Haan peep toe, that darker shade is good for autumn but love the shape of the Stuart Weitzman.
Now find a pair with a heel that’s high enough for me! 😉
A lot of those reds are too aggressive for me- at least how they show up here- I prefer the cherry to burgundy range for my size 10 feet! Isn’t it wonderful what a pair of red shoes does for your mood?
Miss J tried a similar Cole Haan- peep-toe w/ slingback… OH, they were dreamy! And alas, out of her budget. She settled for something similar… “Settled” being the key word here. Though they are a shorter, kitten heel they don’t feel nearly as stable as the better-made Cole Haans…
I fell in love with the Cole Haans, bought them and they were very uncomfortable for me. That was a surprise since I own 3 other pairs of CH. Salesperson said sometimes patent leather fits differently. I love red shoes and think all women need at least one pair!

Red shoes are always good. Period.
Just today, shortly after I accidentally bought a MaxMara jacket, I watched a woman try on a beautiful pair of dark red patent pumps with a heel that looked just about good for walking in … Something else I need?
Frankly I prefer your chaussures oranges!
(Plus, the Dorothy in the original books didn’t have ruby slippers – they were silver shoes…my fave!!)
Well, aubergine is as red as it can be for me. The JC´s stand out from this collection.
Oh my such delights!
