Une femme recommends…

Though I think the “tummy tuck” effect is minimal at best, I’ve been a fan of NYDJ jeans for a few years now, because they fit me brilliantly through the hips and waist.  This is one of their best styles so far.  The leg is slim but not not sausage-casing tight, the fabric is of a lighter weight and has a lot of stretch, and the pressed-in front crease in addition to the dark color (“resin wash”) combine to make these VERY flattering and leg-lengthening.  Designed to hit right below the ankle, they can also be rolled up.  The mid-rise lands right below the waist, so those of you who are either tired of or can’t wear low-rise jeans should definitely give these a try.

I’m off to order a second pair now.

  1. lagatta – it’s more a suggestion of a crease, but it does help to create a vertical line.

LBR – when you do, let me know what you think. I love this brand because the waistband doesn’t gape in the back, and they seem to be cut for those of use with more curves.

enc – thanks, I love that they’re very simple and unembellished. They’re close-fitting, but not tight.

  2. I have to admit that I first tried NYDJ after you recommended them and I love the two pairs I have (one is white). You are right about the waist band not gaping at the back, and they don’t seem to slip down as much as most other jeans seem to with wear.

Perhaps I should go check out this style

  3. I haven’t tried them yet. I did try on a few of their denim skirts and I really didn’t like them. I should have given up on their skirts and tried on the jeans. I will give them another look.

  4. i so agree! i have purchased these jeans for so many of my clients…they truly do flatter & fit so well!

  5. Because I am not at all curvy, I assumed these wouldn’t work for me. But they do–soooo comfortable. I am going to try wearing them on a plane trip (with backup yoga pants) to put them to the test.

  6. When you find “your” jean, multiples are a must! Word verification is “undumb”!

(Trouser jeans are the only style I can wear.)
