Unveiling Something New…

I’m so excited to share this with you! For the past few weeks, I’ve been working with a web design team to create a new landing page and search tool for travel wardrobes and packing tips. 🧳 It’s now live, and you can see it HERE.

Travel Wardrobes from une femme d'un certain age. Search by season and trip length for travel wardrobe ideas!

A Travel Wardrobe Resource Page

I get a lot of questions about travel wardrobes for specific seasons or trip lengths, and wanted to create a way to help you find posts and resources for the type of travel you have planned. At the top of the page, you can filter posts by Season and Trip Length*. Just select from one of the dropdown options in either or both categories.

I’ve included travel wardrobe posts going back several years, so you’ll find plenty of seasonal and geographical variety to refer to. There are also sections highlighting some of my favorite products for travel, and featured posts or other travel articles.

Do take a look around, and let me know what you think. ⤵️

*I’ve currently included two trip lengths: A Few Days, and Two Weeks Or More. I find that two weeks seems to be the cutoff point when it comes to the number and types of pieces needed. And what works for two weeks will usually work as the basis for longer trips.

  1. I love your redesigned website! It’s beautiful, easy to read, easy to navigate and easy to find what you are looking for!

  2. You are the best! The redesigned website is fantastic, very helpful. Your packing tips have helped me become an extremely good packer leaving room for holiday shopping.

  3. LOVE this!

Is there a way to add filters for climate and whether there’s a special event involved?

I’m headed to the Due South tomorrow for my son’s graduation this week, and while it’s still spring, it can be as hot as Philadelphia (where I live) in August down there. It can also be unseasonably cold with tornadoes in the mix!

I’ve already picked out my “capsule” (colors chosen to complement the university’s colors for photo taking with my son), but I’m skipping the linen garments this time to save space in my tiny carry-on. I need to be comfortable, look smart, AND travel light.

    1. Hi Lee, so far I’ve geared most of my travel wardrobe posts toward more “general purpose” pieces. But I am planning to do one soon that includes some “special event” and cruise pieces, so stay tuned!

  4. Terrific launch, Susan! Congratulations for a site which is very easy to navigate which equates to a very successful user experience!

  5. Great idea! Even though I have been a frequent traveler for 35+ years, there is always something new to glean from your site. Chapeau!

  6. This is fantastic! I love coming to your site for travel /packing ideas. The new way that information is organized and presented makes it much easier to find what I’m looking for and more enticing to explore all the options.

  7. Like the new direction. If you think feasible, how about adding another filter per my suggesting of more on London yesterday: Add a destination filter.

    1. Hi Susan, thanks! I may add that at a future date. At this point, I tend to select wardrobe items based on season/climate and activities, rather than specific destination. (Though if you’re looking for regional differences, I might wear more color in London than I would in Paris.) I hope to have lots to report from London during and after our visit in late June-early July!

  8. I love this format. I am currently planning my wardrobe for the summer in England and, although most of it will be clothing to wear on the footpaths of the countryside, I need some smarter pieces for a visit to London, Bath, etc. You’ve just made it easier for me to do my research!

I plan my life around travel so almost everything I own fits into a Travel Wardrobe of some type. I can’t begin to tell you how many of your ideas I’ve used. Your ideas help me stay focused when I’m shopping or planning a piece to make. I go into many stores and can tell within minutes if they have what I need. I had my colors done a few years ago so that helps, too. I no longer make bad purchases.

  9. Thank you for doing this, love this format! I am always planning for my next adventure and this redesign makes your blog so user friendly.
