Paris: Stormy Weather
Notre Dame, sunset |
We left the beginnings of a Mistal in Provence (cool, strong wind) and arrived in Paris to even cooler temperatures, a few downpours and a clap or two of thunder.
I’ll recap more of our Provence adventures later, but one of the best parts of our visit was being able to meet Leslie of La Fourchette s’est Emballée.
She is every bit as charming, witty, fun and chic as you’d imagine from reading her blog!
Tomorrow I am committed to snapping some stealth Paris street style pictures, weather permitting (impossible today). Best of all, I’m scheduled to meet up with Tish of A Femme d’un Certain Age for some quality lunch/shopping time!
Style/trend notes so far: more color than I’ve seen before in Paris, floral print scarves, moto boots with skirts (still, and on all ages), skinny jeans with flats (ubiquitous), red jeans, above-the-knee skirts on all ages, trenches, trenches, trenches.
Spring flowers, young lovers on a bench braving the weather. Ah, Paris! |

I agree. Such a cute photo. I’m going on a trip tomorrow and trying to think like you do in my packing!
You look fabulous — both you and Leslie look like the very models of stylish women of a certain age, and you look like such good company. Well done!
You both look fabulous–and very happy! And tomorrow you meet up with Tish? Trés bien!
Marvelous photo! Give Tish a hug for me, please. And I hardly need to say “have fun”!
You look marvelous! as does Leslie. I appreciate the fashion report, and look forward to more.
What a fun day you’ve had and another on it’s heels.
Do tell us where you and Tish went and what you did!
Wish I could tag along…
Wonderful photo of you and Leslie. Meeting other bloggers brings great pleasure, and it looks like you’re enjoying every moment of your adventure.
Aren’t you two SO CUTE and so stylish!
What fun! And I’ll look at pictures of Paris in any weather. The two of you are so stylish!
What an adorable photo of the two of you!
I see now that you must have been wearing that same leather jacket in the first photo from several posts ago. I didn’t think that was on your packing list?
Looks like you’re having fun despite the weather – lovely photo – it’s stormy in London too.
Definitely raincoat weather, but Paris is meant primarily for that :-).
I think you need to be stronger with a specific date on these trend reports.. Americans read them and assume they’re still good a year or two later. Au contraire :-). You’re better off with straight midwest-acedemic sort of style than with last year’s trends, people can read that easier and won’t scoff if you have the foreigner-excuse.
It looks and reads like you’re having a wonderful time! I’m so happy for you – keep those pics and stories coming!
Love the boots! on you two! This is a great picture!

I agree with the others. You both look so stylish. Glad to hear you’ve seen some color in Paris. Would love to have seen the gal in the red jeans. Have fun with Tish.

Ah, Paris, indeed! That picture of Notre Dame was taken just steps from the apartment where my daughter lived a few years ago. I am so very “homesick” – which is not such a bad thing. Your reports are a delight.
Salut! Did you know people who were born during a Mistral (the Mistral can blow 3 days in a row) are said to have an insane character – fou- due to the insane wind! Mistral is like no other wind I ever experienced. Glad you made it out of there.
Great photo, and you’re both looking very stylish. Looking forward to your street photos.
The Notre Dame picture looks impressive in that lightening.
I bet you are glad, that you decided to take your leather coat along : )!!
Oooh fabulous. Thanks for the style/ trend notes too. Enjoy, enjoy!! You look great. XXX
Oh never mind, you know you’re having a wonderful time !!!!
Wish I were with you.
