Casual Vendredi

Casual Vendredi

Apologies for the dearth of posts this week. We’re in Major Software Development/Design mode at work, which leaves my brain somewhat fried by the end of the day.

I actually did wear something quite similar to the ensemble above earlier this week. My love of marinière tops has not abated. I find they add a bit of zip to a basic ensemble, and seem to coordinate well with just about everything (well, at least everything in my closet…). Those patent loafers are already earning their keep as well; in addition to the outfit above, I wore with a grey pencil skirt and tights this week.

Tomorrow I’ll share some newly discovered blogs with you.

Bon weekend!

  1. What a fabulous colour combination! I’ve got to try something like that with my cognac cords, altho’ I like the cardi that would create the lengthening/slimming/integrating column of colour you’ve got here. I wish you some deep breaths this weekend. Hope you can slow down.

  2. I really love that shade of blue in the scarf and it is beautiful with the camel colors. Hope all computer issues are settled over the weekend! Have a great one!

  3. LOVE that combo. I’d give anything to be able to wear loafers like that. I have narrow heels, so I have to size down in loafers to keep them on. I did that all the time in my 20s, but no more!

And don’t even get me started on the French sailor shirt. I bought half a dozen last year from L.L. Bean after seeing the movie “Coco” (about Coco Chanel). Have always loved them, especially with a pair of sailor’s slacks (does anybody make those anymore?) and a matching beret. 🙂

Yes, your shoes are to die for. I’ll try not to be too “teal with envy” since I just blew $350 on two pairs of Josef Seibel booties. The black ones will look great with my black/white “mariniere.”

Thanks for adding some joie de vivre to a stressful workday!

  4. I love your pairing of teal and rust. I wear a lot of teal and I gravitate towards pairing it with purple and pink.
    The loafers are ingenious.

  5. I agree with you, the marinière tops go with everything.

I covet your teal loafers :).

Bon weekend to you too! I hope it will be restful after your crazy week.

  6. Love the touch of soft turquoise in the scarf and shoes. It has give me an idea to find similar to add a bit of zing to my grey.

  7. I absolutely love this color combo. I just bought a plaid blouse with similar colors. This is an inspiration for me. I do love the teal loafers.
