Nautical
Happy Labor Day to those in the USA! In “olden times” (e.g. my childhood), Labor Day meant the end of summer, and the last day that one was supposed to wear white until after the next Memorial Day. Glad we can now file that one under “silly things we used to believe.” Here I’ve tried to take what is a very traditional summery/nautical look with white and navy and use accessories to make it a bit less literal. All of the solid pieces here were begging for some pattern which I’ve added with the sandals and clutch.

In my fantasy life, I’d be spending this long weekend sailing off Cape Cod; in reality the closest I’ll probably get to the sea today will be taking jeune Homme to ride the water taxi in Marina del Rey. 😉

Nautical and big cat. . . hmmm, have you read The Life of Pi? 😉 Seriously, though, I love what leopard does to the white & navy (and yes, I do know that the big cat in Life of Pi was a tiger)
Labour Day is always too fraught for me to fantasize about how to spend it. I’m always trying to absorb the last leisurely rays of sunshine and get ready for the head-down pace of the new academic year. But at least I’m right at the sea’s edge, and perhaps I can take a nautical outfit for a paddle in the kayak . . Enjoy your fantasy!
Love this combination, and a ride at the Marina sounds wonderful, I would like to meet you there : >
Squeezing white in just before the door closes! Honestly, I never understood the rationale for that “rule.”
I love your wedge sandals. So stylish. For a reason clear in my head, your choice of these attractive shoes leads naturally to my next point — thank you for the kind, intelligent response you gave to Lotte. One thing I’ve learned from being in close contact with cis-women is that many of them possess an advanced level of wisdom. I (and other transgendered people) can benefit from that. Your perspective, experience and insight are admirable.
What a fab outfit and that marina looks gorgeous. Hope you had a great day off. We had a Bank Holiday last week, it rained incessantly – like it always does! x
Hope you got a chance to enjoy the day off – it was such great weather. Love this outfit – the necklace is so pretty.

The nautical look is timeless, love the Navy blazer and the fact that you introduced a third colour, something that I have grown on in the last year. Those sandals are fabulous!

nautical and leopard, I like that, too. I often wear my leopard print/tortoise shell sunglasses with blue and white stripes. About the no white after Labor Day thing… we don’t have Labor Day in Europe, but we have something called winter white, and you being such a francophile, you will certainly find a way to get around that no-white-after-labor-day thing…
This is such a timeless ageless look. You are an inspiration. I also adore French Kande!
I love the toss of leopard here and I really like blue and black together…a fun labor day look!
Nautical and animal print perfection.
Tons of love, dear susan

I love that leopard clutch.
Hope you enjoyed your long weekend. We’ve had excellent weather lately extending our summer. After last winter we deserve it.
bisous
