10 Days Of Chrismukkah: Cadeau No.7

Shiseido blotting papers

Rudolph isn’t the only critter with a Very Shiny Nose. Thanks to what’s euphemistically referred to as “combination skin,” my cheeks can be as dry as the Mohave, while the lipid gleam from my nose could warn ships off a rocky shore on a foggy night.

I tried various powders and powder foundations, but they either didn’t work for long or, worse, left my face looking like a powdered donut. I think the first recommendation I saw for these Shiseido blotting papers may have come from Tabitha at Bourbon & Pearls. At any rate, I am never without them now.  They tackle the shine but leave any makeup intact, and without leaving a visible powdery residue. (Non-makeup- wearers will also love these.) The packaging is compact and purse-friendly, so you can keep on hand for touch-ups mid-day at the office or for that New Year’s Eve party that shows no sign of ending at midnight.

If you’d like to be entered to win, please leave a comment below. (Program note: drawing for winner for this cadeau may be an hour or so later than normal due to scheduling anomalies tomorrow.)

Bonne chance!

  1. These would be great to keep in my desk drawer at work. If I had these I might be able to skip washing my face at mid-day with that nasty moisture-sucking hand soap in the ladies’ room.

  2. I’ve been hearing excellent things about these Shiseido shine control papers. I used to get the Crabtree and Evelyn ones when I was a teen, and now would like to start using these papers again.

  3. I always keep a packet of oil-blotting tissues in my handbag and would love to try these. I, too, could fill in for Rudolph!

  4. Oh, how well I could use those! Yesterday my mother got up at the dining table to blot my forehead with a napkin!

  5. I’ve experimented with many blotting sheets, even toilet covers after reading about how they could suck up excess oil (they worked very well actually). But a self contained package for the purse would be wonderful.
