3 Reasons Why It’s A Good Time To Buy Cashmere

Those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are either already well into a Spring warm up or are eagerly anticipating one, and probably are thinking more about sandals than shawls. But here are three great reasons to consider adding a lightweight cashmere shawl to your wardrobe right now:

1. Air Conditioning. How many times have you shivered through a movie or work meeting because some yutz decided that a thermostat set at 59F was Ju-u-u-st Right?

2. Summer Travel. Wrap a lightweight stole around your neck when your seatmate aims the blower in your direction, or use as a nice blanket for an in-flight nap.

3. 15% off!! For a few days more (offer ends April 15) you can get 15% off any item at L’Affaire Cashmere with code uf015. They’ve added lots of new merchandise in recent weeks, including the on-trend Emerald above, and classic favorites like leopard.

  1. A cashmere wrap is always in my carry-on for just that seatmate! It’s smart to snatch great off season bargains. The selections can be limited, but you can’t beat the prices and you can never go wrong with cashmere. I also love to shop the cruise line for things I can wear in the summer.

  2. As much as admire scarves on others I’ve come to accept that I don’t like wearing anything around my neck. A shame, after hand sewing my collection of beautiful silk scarves! If I’m cold, I prefer a light cardi or jacket.

It’s always a pleasure seeing you in scarves though!

  3. As I write this it’s snowing ice pellets, same forecast tomorrow. You *need* cashmere right through May and in evening a light cashmere wrap is useful even in full summer. I call it the Life Support System.

  4. I’ve got a big cornflower blue cashmere and wool scarf. It’s the warmest thing I can wear with my big coat in winter and it’s also great for travelling as you say. I got it on a big special and haven’t regretted it. Also, it’s really sturdy and still looks new whereas cheaper ‘pashminas’ start to look tatty.

  5. I also love out of season shopping…I always feel as though I got a great bargain… but, cashmere is in season any time!!

  6. I went sleeveless today LOL. Having said that it was in the upper 30’s last night so even in the Deep South a little lightweight cashmere is never a bad idea 😉

  7. Over the past 9 months, my companion 24/7 ( also in bed ) has been my Faliero Sarti silk/ cashmere shawl.
Much more easier to wear than cardigans.

  8. I’m there. It’s cashmere weather just about year-round here, and I live in the stuff. Love that leopard scarf. I always say, there is little in life that cannot be made better with a little leopard print.

  9. I knew it was a mistake to look in on your blog this morning! I have just ordered a beautiful red check cashmere scarf for myself and one of my lovely girlfriends who turns 50 soon. Hope she likes it. Love reading your blog & so glad that your son has settle into his new school. It’s going to be a warm day here in West Aus, about 30degrees C. We are looking for the cooler weather and some much needed rain. Hope your weather turns soon and take care. Thanks
