Top 3 Beauty Products from My UK and France Trip

Trying new things is part of the joy of travel, and that includes beauty products. My friends in the UK and Paris didn’t gatekeep their latest finds, and thanks to their recommendations, I’m coming home with 3 new favorites. (And a list to try in the near future.)

Here are 3 that are coming home with me:

Cooling Eye Patches: ever since Trish McEvoy discontinued their “Triangle of Light” Eye Mask patches, I’ve been looking for a replacement. My friend Annie recommended these from Patchology, and I tried them out for a couple of days while staying with her. They are very cooling and refreshing and seem to reduce puffiness.

le labo labdenum 18. This fragrance smells like a cashmere scarf feels. We stopped into the le labo store in Soho and while my friend was getting a replacement bottle of her favorite scent, I tried this one. I loved it right away but have learned from experience to wait a few hours to see how it develops on me. Several hours in I loved it even more, so made a point to go back the next day to pick up a bottle for myself. It’s fresh but warm, with some amber and vanilla base notes, and is perfect for cooler weather.

Erborian CC Creme. Especially when I travel, I love having products that multi-task. This hydrating CC Creme provides sheer, dewy coverage that evens out my skin tone while also adding a broad spectrum sunscreen (mineral & chemical). It doesn’t go cakey or orange over time. I use the “Clair” color. Don’t be alarmed that it comes out of the tube looking chalky; it blends in with your skin tone and looks very natural.

Have you discovered any favorite beauty products while traveling?

  1. I discovered Erborian CC crème some time ago and have been using it as my everyday foundation. I’m on my 4th tube.
I’m a little bit darker than you but, wear the same Clair shade. It’s a great match for my light coloring and it doesn’t dry out my normal to dry skin.

I love vanilla scents and looking for a new winter one so am going to see if I can find it here to try first. Like you I need to wear a scent a bit before committing to one.

    1. P.S. I was able to order a couple of sample sizes of the perfume! I can’t wait to try it. Fingers crossed it smells nice on me. Thanks for the recommendation!!

  2. I also found the Eroborian CC creme when I was on a trip. While in the pharmacy in Paris, I watched where people went and what they were purchasing, and the Eroborian section was very busy, so I bought a little tube to try. It’s wonderful. They also make one to reduce redness, Eroborian red correct, it’s in a green tube. A little goes a long way, and it works well with my other products.

  3. I like to try new toothpastes while traveling. Many countries have unusual flavors, like lemon or herbal or clove, that I like far more than the usual mint. It’s fun to check them out!

  4. Im just home from UK today! On a previous trip this year I discovered the « roller ball » perfume bottle. Bought a new bottle today at Heathrow duty free. Miss Dior. But the roller ball is perfect for all travel!

  5. Love your style and your comments! I haven’t much left in my wardrobe now, need a refresh!
    You do inspire! Thank you….
