Bloggers Who Lunch

It was my great pleasure yesterday to have lunch with the lovely and charming Rita from Goldivas.com . Rita drove quite a distance to come visit; I was flattered and honored that she took the time to do so. We admired each others’ scarves, and talked and talked about everything under the sun. It’s always wonderful to meet such an intelligent and accomplished woman, another great boon of this internet thingy. Anyhow, if you haven’t checked out Goldivas.com yet, you’re missing out on a great online magazine for women 50+.
Last night, mon mari and I did what we call the Lobby Crawl. So many of the upscale resorts here have beautiful lobbies with great stone fireplaces and comfy couches, so instead of a big meal at a fancy restaurant, we started off with a glass of wine and cheese plate from Spago at the Ritz Carlton in Bachelor Gulch (we sat on the very sofa pictured at right) and then caught the shuttle bus up to Splendido at the Chateau to sit in the piano bar and have a coffee and soufflé (lemon for me, Valrhona chocolate pour lui). We enjoy being able to sample the fabulous ambience and some tasty treats without a big heavy meal that makes it even tougher to sleep at altitude.
Today we have windy, snowy and socked-in conditions, and I seem to have caught a slight cold, so I’m probably just going to toodle around on the bunny slope for our last ski day and then finish up my Retail Reconnaissance.

  1. It was great fun meeting you yesterday, Pseu, and the weather was amazing – so warm & sunny! Unfortunately, weather like that doesn’t last! But I’m glad it was there for most of your vacation.

  2. Splendid! Both the lunch and lobby crawl. What a smart way to bask in gorgeous lobbies and wonderful treats.

Um, there’s a French translator in this family, Pseu, it is “pour lui”.

    Amuse-toi bien!

  3. that lobby is awesome! I’m truly and absolutely jealous now 🙂
Hope you enjoy your remaining time there and the cold doesn’t get too bad!

  4. Ooooooo, lemon or chocolate souffle. Such a difficult decision. Have a safe trip home and nurse that cold.
