bonjour, lundi
Let’s kick off the week (hoping it will be better than last) with some Good Stuff!
Are you as excited as I am??? Tish’s book, Forever Chic: Frenchwomen’s Secrets for Timeless Beauty, Style, and Substance will be released in about two weeks! I consider myself very privileged to have met Tish in person and become friends; she is as lovely and gracious in person as you’d imagine from reading her blog, A Femme d’un Certain Age. This book isn’t going to be fluff either…she’s interviewed top beauty, health, style and skin care experts and will have some solid tips and advice to share. I can hardly wait to get mes mains on a copy!
This? Utter freakin’ genius. It’s changed my life, I tell you! (Thanks to Gracey of Fashion For Giants for pinning it!) Works for cardigans too.
And I had a bit of good news/bad news/good news about my laptop from the nice guy at the Apple store…Good news: negligible water damage to the innards/hard drive. Bad news: hard drive is failing (independently of the H2O incident). Very, Very Good News: my laptop is still under warranty, and they will replace my hard drive at no charge. Bonus: twice as much memory as the original hard drive. Super bonus: should be done within a couple of days.
I’m ready to have a good week, how about you?

So glad to hear that your laptop will survive! I hope you have a great week and that things start looking up!
I’ve pinned the guide on hanging sweaters. Thank you and Gracey for that!
Really good news about your laptop…such a bummer when this happens. I also can hardly wait for Tish’s book!!
Great computer news – faster and better! : > I will def read the book, looks like a winner.
So it was a good thing that someone dumped water on your laptop! Glad to hear Apple has such good customer service.
That sweater tip is fantastic, thanks for passing it on.
That’s very good news about the laptop — in fact, le petit monsieur (not to petit anymore, I know!) did you a favour, non?
Good!
Usually whatever accidents, minor or larger the laptop faces = bad news, costs and waiting..
I have a faint feeling, that mine is going to collapse soon, just a feeling.
good news about the laptop; glad the universe gave you a break!
and thanks about the way to hang sweaters. As you say, life-changing…
Good news on the laptop. May I suggest an automatic online backup of your hard drive? It saved my life (or at least my pictures and lots of documents and financial information) when our computer failed. We use Mozy, but Carbonite is another alternative and I’m sure there are others.
Already have my copy of Tish’s book. Am loving it. Those genius guys are genii!
Excellent news about the laptop! That same thing happened to me about a year ago. My Mac Air froze, but it was still under the one year warranty, so I got a brand new motherboard :).
Thanks for the sweater folding pin. Some people are so smart. 🙂
Congrats on the major save! Yes… looking forward to her book.
And I’m with you on a good week … can use one, myself!
I am RUNNING into my closet as fast as I can to rehang my sweaters. This happened to me JUST the other day (big hanger knob on shoulder). So simple!! Feel free to link up your thoughts on this book on this week’s Verizon Voices Style Hop! Trying to get our numbers up, (we had 53 last week…out highest ever) http://www.modlychic.com/2013/10/verizon-voices-fashionista-style-hop-october-1.html THANKS! Appreciate your support!
That sweater trick IS genius (shoulder bumps are a curse!); obviously it would work for long-sleeved tee shirts too. I’m about to go fold one that way, so I don’t forget!
Yay on the laptop! Looking forward to checking out the book…
Debbie 🙂

Genius – the jumper cardigan hanging!! xx
Good news travels fast! Glad to hear your laptop can be revived, and great post about French style. Rushing off to the bookstore….. I travelled to Milan with a seasoned Francophile and was advised to loose the earrings when I wore a bulky neckpiece, what good advice in order to look remotely French. I understand why they are perceived to be uber chic, less is in fact more! Have a great day, and thanks for sharing this with us!
Au revoir!
