Casual vendredi…

Next week we’re off for a few days of R&R in Napa Valley.  We’ll be there during “the Crush,” or grape harvest season.  We have some tours and tastings already scheduled, as well as an early (!!!) morning hot-air balloon ride and perhaps a bit touring aux bicyclettes.  But mostly, we plan to relax.  I’ve learned from previous winery tours to dress in layers.  It may be warm in the vineyards, but the cellars will be cool.  And comforable shoes are a must.

I’ll post an update or two from the road.

  1. Oh! I love this outfit! And I’m going in Napa in 2 weeks… Look forward to get more great ideas…
Thanks for sharing et beaucoup de plaisir sur la route des vins 😉

  2. love the outfit! I can’t wait to hear about Napa. My daughter just moved near there and I hope to visit in the next year. I am deathly afraid to fly, so I am not quite sure how I will get there from the East Coast??? Have a wonderful time.

  3. Love the shoes.

Many years ago husband and I spent part of our honeymoon in the Napa/Sonoma area. I had a hand-painted silk shell in burgundy/gray/white/pink made just for the occasion. I had pants, a jacket and shoes that coordinated with the blouse and felt like I was on top of the world.

Turns out I have an allergy to some kind of grasses that were in full burst during the dry October season. I sniffled my way through wineries, a lovely B&B and ended that part of the trip in a benadryl-induced nap in the car.

Since then all trips to Northern California have stuck close to the coast with it’s lower pollen breezes.
