workwear blues…
…but the good kind! I’ve usually styled Covered Perfectly tops more casually, but wanted to show how this color blocked top could work as part of a soft office look. (Even my business outfits must be comfortable!) I’ve styled here with a knit pleated skirt and long shaped cardigan. This slightly A-line micro-modal top is soft and breathable. I’m petite, so the length works as a tunic for me; tall women will get plenty of coverage too. It’s available with several different colors in the middle panel. This robin’s egg blue coordinates nicely with my current favorite scarf.
Check out the entire Covered Perfectly collection here. Shipping is free with purchase over $47, and they ship worldwide.

Now that’s a great outfit!!! Scarf and Tiffany blue top beautifully soften the black while keeping the elegance.
GSL, thank you! Tiffany blue, I like that description. 🙂
Ah, I bought that skirt! You convinced me – I had been on the fence, but seeing it on you made it clear how attractive it really is! Thanks
Janice, it’s turned out to be a much more versatile and easy-to-style piece than I thought originally. After a decade of pencil skirts, it’s nice to wear one that’s a little fuller again. And…pockets!!
I love this ensemble on you! So elegant and yet so comfortable!
Susan, thanks so much!
I love that soft blue on you. And the scarf is gorgeous. The whole outfit works really well. Hmmm…almost makes me wish I had to get dressed for work this morning…almost.
Susan, thank you. It does make slogging into the office a little easier….
Beautiful color on you…and I love your scarf!
Pam, thanks! I haven’t worn this color in decades, probably, but really like it now.
It is amazing how a scarf can transform an outfit. This is a great look!!

Cherie James, thank you!
The color is gorgeous, and the scarf – well, it’s art. I *almost* want to get dressed for work today so I can look like this. xo
Patti, thanks! You’ve been doing quite well with your “fun-employment” outfits. 🙂
You look perfect!
Kate, thank you very much!
Your booties are exactly what I am looking for! Who makes them? Thx
Hi Cindy, these are Aquatalia by Marvin K from a couple of years ago. Here’s a similar style by the same brand: http://bit.ly/1ybP54I
Really like that look, those proportions, on you!
Frances, thanks so much! I seem to re-discover skirts every winter, only to let them go once it’s too warm for tights.
Cute!!!!
Thanks, Coco!
I always love an iced-out blue with black, it’s one of my favorite color pairings. I love it here with the scarf (and that bag, oh that bag). XO, Jill
Jill, thank you! I love how the scarf really pulls the two colors together.
Although you are wearing black, I can see a touch of spring with your lovely scarf.
Can’t wait to wear “normal” shoes again rather than winter boots all the time…

Annette, thank you. It looks from your pictures that you’ve had a bit of snow lately.
Loving your blog; I just discovered it and I think you pull a lot of confidence!
Nice scarf; and a spring smell amidst winter in this outfit post 🙂

Jess, thank you very much!
You look terrific!
Renee, thanks!
Love the blue top but especially the scarf. Start making yourself a little blue capsule. It’s refreshing don’t you think?
Karen, thanks! I’ve started adding more blue to my wardrobe (dang, it’s easy to wear!) and will work on a capsule.
Can you advise on the sizing of Covered Perfectly? Perhaps as compared to eileen fisher?
Thanks!
Hi Julie, the top I’m wearing here is size S. In Eileen Fisher knit tops I’m usually an XS or Petite S.
Very pretty outfit. I don’t see you in too much colors so this is a nice to see you in blue and that gorgeous scarf.

Thanks, Alice!
What a chic sleek outfit. I especially love the scarf and I agree with Alice, it is refreshing to see you in colour, even if it offset with all the black.
bisous

Suzanne, thank you! I still feel at home in black but like adding lighter elements or color at times.
Enjoy your blog and this outfit is great. Looking at the affiliate links, cannot tell which is the scarf. I have to have it!
Hi JR, thanks so much! The scarf is this one: http://bit.ly/1Ho2fWa
Your glasses are so flattering. I’m looking for new ones, and also live in L.A. Do you mind sharing the brand and model?
Hi Jackie, thanks so much! I’ve been getting my eyewear from Century City Optometry for twenty years now. They have a great selection and carry many European brands, and always help me select a perfect fit. These are from Face à Face Paris. I’m not certain of the model # but will try to figure it out.
Fantastic. Thank you. To confirm, it’s in the mall? If you can read a model # on the temple it would helpful. I would like new frames but dread making the choice.
Hi Jackie, yes in the mall near the Apple store. The model number “SHADE 3”. Go see them; they are really helpful and have some very nice frames you won’t find at the chains.
Thank you. I’ll go check them out.
Beautiful ringer here. Love the blue with black. Oolala!
