d. none of the above

While out and about doing some Retail Reconnaissance yesterday, I spotted these at Bloomingdales, and they were part of the current sale…20% off.  I’ve actually admired this style for ages and Highland Fashionista’s recent post featuring her Frye’s with a skirt and tights put them back on my radar again. I tried them on and LOVED how they look and feel, classic and edgy at the same time. (I also remembered I had a gift card I was able to apply, so these turned out to be a bargain! I’m reading it as a Sign From The Universe.)

Now, if only we had some boot weather…sigh.

  1. Now those are splendid, truly splendid, I like the squared off toe. And lack of bling/overly butch profile/extraneous twiddly bits as evidenced in exhibits A, B & C. Methinks you’ve found your porridge with maple syrup on top (I’m a wimpy English kid ergo I need a sweet topping on my porridge, doubtless Tabitha up north of the border is made of sterner stuff and just makes her with salt and water!).

  2. These are cute!

I will sheepishly admit that I cruised through a department store yesterday – very quickly – but in my peripheral vision I saw oh-so-many-magnificent boots!

I had to use extra discipline to not stop and, well, you know… play.

(And who says you have to have “boot weather” to wear your boots, anyway?)

  3. No kidding, it is HOT and supposed to be HOTTER tomorrow!

I want to thank you for pointing me toward Eileen Fisher – I bought a jacket and pair of pants for my job interview outfit, and then while dealing with alterations, found a silk EF T and another pair of pants on sale at Nordies!! Now I feel confident! So they can start calling to schedule interviews, I’m ready!!

  4. Cool boots! Now if you could get some cool weather so you could wear your cool boots.

You are not only down there in Los Angeles. Summer is dragging on up here, too. It is supposed to be 95 today and 97 tomorrow. Ugh! That is entirely too hot for this time of year.

  5. It will be interesting to see how you will dress with those boots. Over here, no problem ( with our temperatures ) for using boots.

  6. HA, I knew it!! When you posted the others, they simply didn’t make sense. But these Harness boots? You’ll love them. I have a pair of Frye’s (more like a desert boot with high heels, go figure) and they’re ridiculously comfortable, even for heels. You’ll wind up wearing these far more than you expect, I can tell.

  7. Yes, I love those kind of signs!! These are wonderful and Look perfect for you…they would look perfect for me too…but I did not get the sign…:)
We have gone down into the 80s so it is officially fall in Texas!! We had a day of rain and its cloudy today…I will take that. I look forward to seeing you style these boots…they are wonderful!

  8. i am in the mid valley of calif..today it was 93! oh dear, i want to layer! just so you know, last winter my go to boot were fryes from 1960. yes indeed. lovely high tops with a stacked heel….so NEVER toss. love yours!

  9. Just got off the plane from a work week in LA — weather in DC is cool and rainy, just right for those boots, As a femme of a certain age, I’d wear these with jeans/pants only, but that’s just me. It’s not a legs thing, it’s an age thing but YMMV.

Inspired by you, and with an afternoon of free time at my disposal, I went to the Nordstrom’s in Glendale and bought the purple NYDJ Sheri jeans, along with a couple of other sale pieces. I’ll be back in 6 mos for the next work trip — wanna go shopping?

  10. Thanks so much for the mention, and be careful what you wish for with that weather of yours….here in Scotland, we are experiencing a deluge that even my trusty Fryes couldn’t withstand…

  11. Love them! Just what I would have recommended rather than the other 3.
I look forward to see how you style them – rock on with your bad self!

  12. In that weather I’d be in sandals and walk right by, missing the bargain. I am trying to develop your radar, b/c the best things can be found this way- great call!

  13. Now see, if you lived in New England you’d be wearing those boots in the crisp Fall weather. Much as I miss SoCal, I do not miss the high temps except, of course in the NH winter when I’m freezing my ass off!
