Embellishment

Embellished 1

If you pay attention to fashion news, apparently “embellished” items continue to be a hot fall trend. I purchased this linen Maje tee in Paris in May, and don’t know why I haven’t worn it more. It’s a step-saver, being pre-accessorized and all 😉 .

Jacket: MICHAEL Michael Kors // Tee: Maje, no longer available, similar // Bag: Balenciaga // Bracelets: Stella and Dot, and similar // Jeans: AG “Stilt” // Shoes: Cole Haan

Note to self: Lipstick!

Even though it’s been a short week, it’s been a busy one, and I’m really glad it’s Friday!

Bon weekend!

  1. It’s a lovely tee and the embellishment is defined but subtle, elegant and tasteful. I was going to say no I don’t like the embellishment trend but them I recalled I have two sleeveless Summer tops with this type of embellishment ;). I only wear them for evenings, and usually under a jacket, as it’s a little too much for me for day wear. I do appreciate the look on others though and it appears to be a trend that ebbs and flows never disappearing g completely.

  2. You’re lookin’ good. I hadn’t heard that about embellished items. Your ear is closer to the ground on fashion news than mine. Perhaps that’s because I’m taller. 🙂

  3. I think that subtle embellishment like on this tee is fine, and the outfit looks great. I don’t wear embellished tops myself because I like to wear scarves, or for a dressier look, art jewelry, and it would be too much.

  4. Nice top. I have a shirt in a similar color with little studs across the neckline. As the owner of a small chest I often add layers/texture, it’s a body area where extra bulk is a plus, a little metallic accent is a good thing.

It looks good with the leather cuff.

  5. I like your T and I like some dresses with beaded edgings on women I see, but I don’t own any myself and don’t see owning any. Just not my style. I’d rather wear some jewelry and/or a scarf.

  6. I have a J Crew embellished sweatshirt that I wear layered over a white button up shirt, and usually jeans. That’s as embellished as I get! I usually let my jewelry do the talking.

  7. I’m curious about the shoes. They appear miles too big for you (last photo) – are they loaners for the shoot? You surely couldn’t walk a single step in them without them falling off!

    1. Hi Archienne,

Actually though they gap at the very top edge, my heels sit firmly in the back of the shoes. They are quite easy to walk in and are my own shoes.

  8. This tee is great with your other basic daytime items. I keep looking at them and also tanks with sequins on the front thinking that I might try them with a jacket. You inspire me! Have a great weekend.

  9. I know that this is a classy T, but I have been put off by all of the cheap clothing that is bedazzled to the limit, that I shy away from most things embellished, even when they are of good quality. I would love to see the T without the jacket, perhaps as a date night outfit.

  10. Just like this little top you’re wearing, I’m loving it that current iterations of embellished tops and dresses have dialed down a notch and have a different feel from half the top being encrusted with gems. Perfect! And you wear it perfectly!

  11. I like the combination of the jacket and T-shirt! It’s contemporary and easy for the day…I usually love embelished pieces … they can add an extra touch to an outfit !

I hope you will enjoy a relaxing weekend…
