  1. Well, see below! Foulard, cotton fitted jacket if needed, skirt (more comfortable for sitting). At least in a box you won’t be in beating sun.

    Play ball!

  2. Well, unfortunately I don’t have either a skirt or fitten cotton jacket at the moment. (The jacket alone would have made this easier!) I’m starting with BR black cotton trousers, (wish they hadn’t run out of the camel color, could’ve done more with that) and trying to build from there based on what’s in my closet. Temps are supposed to hit 90+ today…though we will be in air-conditioned comfort.

  3. Ugh! Last time I was invited to one of those I managed to find an excuse to skip it! I used to like a baseball game once in a while, but now it bores me.

  4. What about the black trousers you referenced below, a boatneck t-shirt and a scarf, paired with ballet flats. Simple, yet elegant and you will remain true to your own style, thus being more comfortable. Viola….Laura

  5. This is indeed a conundrum. Black pants is a good start and sice the box will be air conditioned, a 3/4 sleeve cotton shirt, a great watch and multiple bangle bracelets.

  6. What will the guys wear? Golf shirts, khakis, and casual shoes, I’m betting. How come they don’t have any fashion conundrums?!!!

  7. wendyb – well, my boss’ boss issued the invitation, so I didn’t feel like I could decline. But it ended up being fun.

rita – it IS hard to look stylish in hot weather. And we have at least another 2-3 months of it. Bleh!

l – I actually ended up with something quite close. Wish I’d worn the ballet flats, though.

belle – that’s pretty close to what I finally chose, but we ended up sitting on the outside portion of the balcony. Fortunately we were in the shade, and the weather wasn’t too hot.

dana – yeah, really! All they have to do is throw on a pair of chinos and a buttoned shirt, and they’re good to go.
