Foulard de la semaine

Rather than the expected red or pink for Valentine’s Day, I’ll be wearing Les Amoureux de Paris, with Wendy B’s silver “Diana” heart necklace. This scarf features a map of Paris with silhouettes of famous Parisian lovers.

Update on the wisdom teeth: dentist decided to only remove the loose one, so it was indeed “no big deal.” Was in and out of the office in 30 minutes, took one Advil after the novocaine wore off to prevent swelling, and haven’t taken anything since. No pain, no swelling. I’m one grateful femme!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Duchesse grabbed the right word, precisely, for this scarf: it truly is charming, especially the way you’ve tied it.
Really glad to hear how well the wisdom tooth extraction went — what a relief!

  2. The scarf arrangement looks nice, but does it stay in place? Happy to hear that the operation went well at the dentist´s. I must be a weirdo, but I have really enjoyed my dentist´s appointments in my adult life. The case was just the opposite in my youth, when my mother ( a dentist too ) chased after me to get me to her office. She managed to create a trauma of it. When I got a dentist of my own choice, things changed.

  3. In the new dentistry, wisdom teeth and even root canals are no longer a huge deal. You just have to deal with the problems before they get really bad.

    Oh–and wonderful scarf as always.

  4. Sal – thanks!

metscan – it depends on how it’s tied whether it shifts or not. If I tie with the ends hanging down loose in the back, it tends to stay more or less in place, though the folds will move a bit. I’m sorry your early dental experiences were traumatic. Mine were too; my parents found a “cheap” dentist who was gruff and didn’t seem to like kids very much. Fortunately I didn’t have any cavities until adolescence, as I can imagine hearing “shut up and sit still!” as he was jabbing me with a two-foot long needle when I was little would’ve undone me!

  5. Duchesse – thank you! Ever since Imogen’s workshop last year when we did the color analysis, I’ve been opening up to turquoise. I’ve just ordered a light spring cardigan from Talbot’s in this color, which I think will also look great with my navy/cream marinière shirt…

materfamilias – thanks so much! Most of my favorite scarves are in some way associated with Paris, either by representation or purchase there.

LPC – merci beaucoup. Vous etes très gentille.

  6. Frugal – it helps considerably that both of my wisdom teeth were fully “erupted” (in dental parlance) and that the roots were apparently small. But yes, my dentist is one of those modern ones who’s all about preventing pain and making the whole process as comfortable as possible. I LOVE my dentist. And thank you.

    Rita – thank you!

Bonjour Romance – merci beacoup and hope you have a lovely weekend too!

  7. Faux Fuschia – thanks so much! It’s probably V day where you are already, hope it’s a nice one.

g – thank you. I think turquoise is one of those colors that looks good on many different skin tones, as there are warm and cool elements to it.

vicki archer – merci beaucoup, and Happy Valentines Day to you too!

That’s Not My Age – thank you so much!
