Foulard de la semaine

This is my homemade “infinity” scarf. 😉

Using the Ann Taylor Ruffle Scarf, tie the ends together, loop twice around the neck.

  1. OK, this is really fun. You learned a “word” chez moi today, da-dame (yes, frumpy, old lady), now you have to tell me from chez toi, what is an “infinity” scarf.

Does it mean in your hands it can be tied in an infinite number of ways? Probably.

Whatever your answer, it’s very pretty.

  2. Katriona – thanks! I think this is my favorite way to wear this particular scarf so far.

    materfamilias – thank you!

Duchesse – I’m really liking this ruffle trend right now, feminine but not too fussy.

  3. Belle – thanks! And you’re right; I’ll try adding a brooch next time.

    Miss Janey – merci beaucoup!

Tiffany – thank you! I love this shade too.

Imogen – Yes, definitely not a summer option. 😉

  4. Homemade…are you going to show us how? I went to the link you gave Tish. Looks almost like an add-on cowl neckline. I could see this as a way to put some colour between ones face and black apparel…duh, what scarves are often used to do, right?

  5. So pretty! That mauve-y, ashes of roses color really suits redheads!

If you’re a knitter, you really can “home-make” one of these. Just search the Ravelry or Knitty pattern archives for a “Moebius scarf.”

They’re dead easy, and a fun way for novice knitters to play with pattern stitches. (Also an affordable use of the hand-harvested, hand-spun, hand-painted, luxury fiber yarn that I’m always lusting after!)

  6. metscan – thank you! I’m finding this color also works with a lot of my clothing.

    Shelley – I’ll show a how-to on this one next week. It’s easy-peasy!

Rubiatonta – thanks! Now that I know this color works for me, I’ll be on the lookout for it in other garments. I don’t knit (yet) but I’ll take your word for it!

lagatta – great links, thanks! I have one of the “wearable art” designs (tiger) but in a different colorway.
