Foulard de la semaine - une femme d'un certain âge

Foulard de la semaine

Holy cow, look at this gorgeous scarf! It was a Hanukkah present from mon mari! He really was listening to those hints I was dropping.

This scarf is one I’ve been eyeing for a while, “Aux Pays des Epices” which features images of several different countries and the spices they’re known for. I love the chili peppers that frame the design!

Wow! I love Hermes. I saw a wonderful Hermes silkscreen demo and exhibit at the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, FL one year – eye-popping! As is your scarf, love those colors!

Oh, Happy Hanukkah! What a delightful gift.

I love your “foulard de la semaine” posts; in honor of my 40th birthday this month I bought my first Hermes scarf, and am having loads of fun with it.

Deja, hello. I’ve never commented on your blog before although we have debated on others. I love your postings on scarf tips and seeing your beautiful scarf I am compelled to leave a comment.

It is an absolute beauty and really flatters your skin tone. And the colour combination would lift any neutral outfit. I think it would look especially fine with deep dark chocolate brown or aubergine.

I’m sorry but I’m going to have to get one next time I’m in duty free!

Deja: May I answer to Duchesse here ? I have been `teaching´my hb for 34 years now, without a result. I have to buy my gifts myself. When asked,he often says like: I forgot, or you are so hard to please. The latter might be true ( I´m so selective and have a very expensive taste, so ashamed to reveal this ). Have a Merry Christmas everyone !!!!!!!!!

Rita – thanks! That demonstration must have been fascinating. I would love to see sometime how they make these scarves. The colors are so vivid.

Kasmira – thank you! I feel very lucky indeed.

    dana – thank you!

Duchesse – merci bien. I was just thrilled to get this, and he was thrilled that I was thrilled.

    Miss Janey – THANKS!

Metscan – Mon mari in the past has given some very disappointing gifts, I’ll admit. I’ve found that I have to be very specific with my hints. I didn’t tell him any particular scarf but gave him the business card of one of the Hermès sales associates and said “she’ll tell you what I like.” (and this particular scarf wasn’t on my list…he picked it out himself!) I never thought he’d actually go there though, I think he thinks I’m a little nuts with the scarves, and balks at spending that much. For the last few years we haven’t given each other gifts saying “that trip to Paris was our gift” or “that new camera was our gift”. But I told him this year that I miss us giving each other gifts and wow did he get my drift!

  26. December 24, 2008 / 2:29 pm

Belle – thanks! alas, his two brothers are taken.

greying pixie – thank you so much! I can’t imagine better colors for me. This scarf goes with just about everything in my closet, and yes, looks gorgeous with my aubergine silk top. If you are able to purchase this one I think you’ll not be disappointed.
