Kitchen Remodel
We’re still in a holding pattern, waiting for the city to review and approve the plans and issue permits. They’re apparently quite backed up, as there’s so much building going on. At this point, the estimate is another couple of weeks before we have permits and work can begin. (Insert frustrated face emoji here.)
Sale Picks For Rainy Days
It finally feels like fall here! We had a few sprinkles yesterday morning and there’s a little bit of rain in the forecast this weekend. Rain is always welcome in Southern California. Quite a change from a week ago when it was 90F.
These weatherproof Aquatalia chelsea boots are currently marked down 30%. I have a similar style in suede (which I wore almost non-stop in Paris) and have been very happy with the comfort and durability. Hard to go wrong with a classic style like this.
If it’s a bit wetter where you live, this Barbour rain jacket is on sale.
Here’s a packable anorak in navy. (Also available in Olive.)
And a packable rain jacket in Plus, available in black, purple as well as grey.
Fancy a chapeau? This bucket rain hat is also available in black and tan, and an extra 20% off the sale price with code SAVEBIG.
Not rain-related, but Nordstrom is having a big fall sale, including lots of Eileen Fisher (clothing and shoes).
Are you enjoying some nice fall weather where you live?
I wish I could buy cooler weather. It is so hot here and going to be for awhile. But I really love those boots you selected. I can dream of cooler breezes blowing. Happy Friday, Susan.
I went shopping in the city (Toulouse) with a friend yesterday and saw lots of women in army surplus style jackets. I wore one, too. A few top-to-bottom outfits, where the top and pants are made of the same fabric, with a striking pattern or color. Saw even more of these in the stores. Some were quite cute.
Rain mixed with flurries here, temperatures either side of freezing. . . .but I’m off to hear John Fluevog speak, and wearing a pair of Fluevog boots — I’m sure there will be a roomful of those! 😉 Happy Weekend!
Oh what fun! Have a wonderful time.
Just love your refreshing blog, style tips and travel tips. I look forward to reading it. Thanks for making my day happier
Thanks very much, Pam!
I always enjoy your style and your smile.
About those handsome Aquatalia boots: are they really really waterproof, with no leaking between sole and upper?
Hi Jeanne, I can attest that the pairs I own have not leaked.
Winter has arrived here on the Canadian prairie! The midday temperature is -11ºC (12ºF) today and my husband was out with the snow blower this morning! (insert sad face emoji here!)
That bucket hat is so cute! As another citizen of southern California, I am happy when there is even a little sprinkling of rain, and I really want a new rain hat!
Plutrell, I’ll plunk you down in Montréal in mid-January and you’ll regret that wish! Not that droughts are funny either.
I didn’t know what that message written on the chalkboard meant. But now I do. LOL!
Thanks so much fr hosting the Know Your Style giveaway, Susan. It’s very much appreciated x
Book came yesterday, thank you! Great illustrations.
