how to be “Forever Chic”

Forever Chic by Tish Jett

I first met Tish Jett in Paris in 2009. She’s a lovely person, both inside and out. We hit it off immediately, and it wouldn’t be a trip to Paris without an afternoon spent with Tish. Over the years she’s shared some of her favorite drugstore beauty secrets, and she’s never steered me wrong. I’m still hooked on the Eucerin Hyaluron Filler moisturizer, and Bioderma Crealine Micellar H2O for removing makeup and cleansing.

Tish’s book “Forever Chic” is such a wealth of information about style, beauty, health, attitude, and being our best at whatever our age. It would make a wonderful gift, and I consider it a must-have for any style bookshelf. I’m delighted to be able to give away TWO signed (by Tish, bien sur) copies of this lovely book! (2 winners will be chosen to each receive 1 copy.)

Winners will be chosen at random. You’ll get 2 “entries” for your comment on this post (if you do not wish to be entered, please let me know in your comment) and 1 “entry” each for visiting my Facebook page here, for following on Twitter here, and for following on Instagram here. Contest will be open until 11:59pm on 11/26/15. I’ll draw the winners and announce on Tuesday 12/1. Winners will need to provide a valid shipping address so I can send your book.

If this is the first time you’ve commented here, your comment will need to be approved before it will appear. Please don’t panic if it doesn’t show up right away; I’ll be reviewing and approving comments several times per day though it may take a few hours at times.

Bonne chance!!

  1. Oh my wouldn’t that be lovely. Your site is actually the first blog I ever commented on. (have always stayed off commenting on the internet, it is a scary place) Your site brought me out of the shadow to a subject I love talking about fashion, and with ladies of similar interest. I don’t know if this earns me brownie points:) but I am loving the blogging and your site.
Anyway, via your site I found and have also been following Tish’s blog, and it also wonderful.
This only started all in the last few weeks for me, but all the things you ladies do seem like so much fun and who knows maybe one day there will be an event in Europe I might be willing to use some vacation time and fly to if it is open, as the recent Bianco Christmas thingy and the book signings seemed great.

Keep up the site and all the fun, as some of us still live vicariously through you ladies!
Oh and happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I really miss that holiday)
I am sure we will get a great Thanksgiving post from you, a glamorous outfit or something fun you have done, either way enjoy your holiday.

    1. I love this blog. Thank you so much for all the information you share. I never felt like I understood how to put fashion pieces together. I am just so grateful for all your help.

  2. How funny, my first blog comment ever was here also! And the only other blog I’ve commented on would be Tish’s. I’d love to own her book.

  3. I think I entered/commented on the Rafflecopter site. I have read some of Tish’s posts and enjoy them, as well as your posts. You always come across as effortlessly chic to me.

  4. That sounds like the kind of book I’d like to read. I recently stumbled across your blog online and started following you on Facebook because I’m approaching 50 and want to be able to do so gracefully and with style. I really like the way you present yourself so I’m hoping to learn from your example.

    1. Carole, it’s not available in the US except through 3rd party sellers. I’ve linked to one in the body of the post.

      1. Thank you for explaining the discrepancy. I was concerned that this was being sold on Amazon where many discontinued and near expiration products are sold. That is why I looked on the manufacturer’s website. When I did not see the product listed there, I did consider that another explanation was that the product was only marketed in Europe since Beiersdorf is a German company.

  5. Working hard on my chic level! Could use every bit of help there is- long way to go!! Would love to have the book! Meanwhile, I’ll continue to enjoy my time spent on this lovely blog.

  6. Wanting to try the bioderma. I’d love to win Forever Chic because Lord knows, I need some help. Still my favorite blog <3

  7. I’m In. I would love to win a signed copy. I had this book and found it to be one of my favorite style guides. My pet rabbit decided to customize the cover for me so sadly it is no longer worthy of displaying on my library shelves. I look forward to your blog in my daily emails. Thanks for all the great advice.

  8. Hi Sue,
Don’t put me in the draw…. I already have my own copy. Following Tish’s advice, I recently purchased Eucerin Hyal-Urea night cream. And I never, ever buy creams without first trying a sample for a few days. I’ve really sensitive skin. Anyway this was not as expensive as most department store creams, so I bought it cold. Wow… my skin has been really great. Even better than with my usual night cream. And it’s available here in drugstores. Now I’m going back to her book to look at what other creams she (and her friendly pharmacist) have recommended.

  9. Thank you for your generosity! Both Tish’s and your blogs are part of my early every-day routine so would love to win the book! Thank you.

  10. I,m in! I love seeing your picks. There is beauty everywhere, not just in the flush of youth. Let’s keep celebrating all of it!

  12. I love your blog and Tish’s blog. Both are amazing and I would love to have the book. At this point, I’m taking notes on both blogs as I am going to Europe (Netherlands and Belgium) for the first time in the spring and need all of the travel advice I can get.

  13. I’ve been following your blog as well as Tish’s for about a month and you have helped me to upgrade my wardrobe intelligently. I also particularly appreciate your thoughtful post on resisting the impetus to keep coming up with new and novel outfits when a few well chosen favorites serve best. And of course, letting us in on some of your travels to that wonderful city, Paris, which exemplifies all that is best about living with joy, freedom and style. Vive la liberte’!

  14. I’m in! Thanks. I so look forward to your regular blog posts. You keep me thinking about style and living a full life.

  15. Well thank you for this opportunity Susan! You’ve truly changed my life in the realm of fashion and travel. Love your style and have been in love with French pharmacie products ever since I discovered them in 2003 when I returned to Paris as an adult. A girlfriend and I stayed for 2 weeks around this time of year. I was hooked.

  16. Please enter me in. I had the book and during a moment, gave it to my sister…….Thank you very much for the give away!

  20. After 4 years of French…I would love to learn about chic French women’s style. My prayers are with the French people at this time of mourning for the innocent lives lost in this terrorist war. The people of France and especially Paris will recover and I am cheering them on.

    1. Julie. Definitely not! I’m slightly younger than you at the age of 68 and try my best to attain chic-ness. One reason I love going to France is to see chic Frenchwomen in all age brackets – truly inspiring!

  24. Je voudrais gagner ce livre! Merci.

  26. I am in! I love your blog and read it faithfully each day you post. I would love to win a book. And thank you for your wonderful writing.

  27. Juste a little French detail – the expression goes: Bonne chance (chance is feminine and thus the adjective needs to agree in gender). 🙂

  28. Love, love, love your use of Eileen Fisher and French Kande pieces – and now this! Can it get any better?!?

  29. You both have become role models for me and have helped me to redefine my definition of what constitutes style. Thanks for the opportunity to win this book!

  30. I’m in! I truly enjoy your style/life posts. I’d love to win the signed copy of the book but it will make it onto my must-read list whatever the outcome!

  31. How delightful! I follow very few style blogs…but yours and Tish’s are on that short list! Thanks tp both of you!

  32. At age 71, yours is the first blog I have ever followed and have now added Tish’s. My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to New York in October and it was your blog that taught me how to pack and layer, layer. Living in Canada wiht COLD winters, layering takes on a new meaning. Love the EF clothes and wish I was not on a fixed income as a retired school principal. When I was working, I did invest in three EF “work” outfits that always amde me feel on top of my game. In New York, my husband bought me and EF sweater that I adore. Thank you for guiding those of us who are more mature, into a wonderful sense of fashion, style and comfort. Please include me in your draw – how neat that would be to win a signed book about being “Forever Chic”! Love your blog, your ideas, and appreciate the challenges you face with working and family. You are a wonderful role model. HappyThanksgiving to you and your family! You constantly reming me to count my blessings.

  33. Thank you the opportunity to own this book through this ‘give away’. I checked the book out at the library (read it twice) and that’s how I found your website. Great advice.

  34. I’m in. Thank you. I follow both your blog and Tish’s. I really appreciate your refined yet relaxed style particularly because like you, I’m over 50, petite, and live in California. Love your blog!

  35. I’m in! I love checking your blog each morning for the latest post, and through you, I discovered Tish. Thanks for the opportunity to own her new book!

  36. Wonderful gift! I have been lurking for a while and enjoying the many wonderful tips and ideas! Even my colleagues have noticed I’m “more stylish!” For a farm girl / college prof, that is quite a compliment! 🙂

  37. I already read Tish’s book so do not need to be entered into the giveaway. I mainly wanted to swing by and wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving this week and to tell you I am grateful to you for your wonderful and always uplifting blog. Thank you! xx

  38. I’m in! I’m dying to try that moisturizer you mentioned, I haven’t seen it on store shelves, but I’ve tried other products by that company and wasn’t disappointed.

  39. “I’m in!” AND a “I’m a fan!” I, too, live in So. California, am petite, Asian, and retired. I enjoy your fashion sense and your insights on various topics! So well written and thought out. Thank you for this opportunity!

  40. Absolutely! I’m in! I have this book on kindle, but always like to have a hard copy of books that are this fabulous. It is the sort of book that is perfect to pick up and randomly go to different pages. Love it! Thank you also for all your tips and ideas on dressing, especially the Travel Wardrobes!

  41. I enjoy your posts very much. As a petite woman too it’s been very helpful to read and experiment with your suggestions. I did a photo shoot recently and was inspired to try some of your recommendations and the pictures came out great. I feel beautiful at the age I am now and am thankful to you and your blog.

  42. What a kind and generous person! I read both blogs daily and it would not be the start to the day without them. Always great tips and hints on looking ones best and hence feeling on top of one’s game

  43. Hi Susan,

I posted at the top of this, I hope I did it right, as I am a bit confused, got an email to follow and post, in order to be sure I follow these steps to win.
Anyway I try it again, I’m in:)
Sorry but I don’t do the facebook thingy or twitter, had bad experience once (stalking ex) so this will be my only way to enter.

  44. I love your blog, trying to hard to improve my self, need this book. Thank you for all you no. I so look forward to your post.

  45. I’m in! Reading your blog has become a part of my daily routine; I look for your newest post shortly after rising, with my coffee, before dashing off to work. It’s become a “be good to myself” ritual and an oasis of calm, good taste, and inspiration. Thank you!

  46. I’m in! Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration. Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

  47. I have been trying to locate both the products you mentioned and have been unable to find them except on Amazon. Are they sold in drugstores in the USA or only in Europe?

    1. Hi Kathy, unfortunately they are not available in drugstores in the US, at least that I’ve been able to find. I’ve had good luck ordering both from amazon.

  48. Thank you for so generously sharing your life’s passion. Your fans appreciate your hard work and you!

I would love to read and study this book…thanks for the opportunity.
    Pat
