In The Groove

This is one of those outfits that hits my Style Sweet Spot™. I’m just crazy for these light wash jeans. They’re very comfortable, and work nicely to balance out darker neutrals. While we’re just a few days from the official beginning of Summer, evenings are still cool enough that I need a jacket.

This bag is an ancient Chanel small classic flap. After seeing these pictures I applied a bit of leather conditioner!

Thanks for the great feedback yesterday on the new blog format! I’m looking into the dynamic blog roll, hope to get that back for you soon. I’m still getting the hang of this new platform, and all of the new options and settings.

Don’t forget that if you’ve been following using Blogger Friend Connect or Google Reader, those options are being retired effective July 1. You can follow this blog using Bloglovin, (please select the https://unefemmenet.wpengine.com option) or by clicking on the Subscribe button on the right sidebar, and choosing one of the many options.

  1. Our local upscale consignment shop has not received the memo that lighter washed jeans are great for summer. They rejected some of my jeans (too short for me now) due to the light wash! You look great in this ensemble.

I have a question about your EF layering. Do you always wear a tank under this tee? Is it necessary because of transparency? I’m having an issue with many of Eileen Fisher’s summer offerings as that kind of layering just isn’t comfortable in a climate that is regularly 100+ degrees in the summertime.

    1. Susan, I tend to wear a tank underneath just because I run cool, and get chilled easily in a/c. But some of the lighter colors of the linen jersey can be a bit less opaque, it’s true, which might make them tricky on their own in very hot weather.

  2. Love the new look for your blog – clean and elegant. Also, great outfit, and I do love lighter wash jeans. Even in the winter I like jeans that are a darkish medium wash (called vintage wash) because I like to see the denim texture – unless they’re black jeans. Great outfit and very you.

Also, if you could explain this new thing – Bloglovin – I just don’t understand it although I did sign up for it?

    1. Kathy, I don’t know how you normally follow blogs but it’s a reader, that consolidates all of the updates from followed blogs in one place. You can also configure to get a daily email with all blog updates for the day.

  3. Great looking outfit and those shoes reminded me of a pair of Arche that I had years ago and literallyt wore into the ground. Your web design is very attractive, and I will check out Bloglovin.

I don’t know what to attribute the change to, but I think the recent past indicates you are on to something – your new look, new figure (have you lost weight, not sure?), tweaked and edgier but classy style — something has changed and it is incredible. Could you mull this over and post for all of us who have trouble really changing up our style and look to be as successful as possible? Don’t get me wrong, you have always been highly fashionable but you seem to have entered a whole new realm of getting your look spot on! In advance, thanks for any forthcoming post and for all you do as a faithful, consistent blogger who many of us adore and look forward to reading. Christina

  5. just found your blog after searching for great blogs for women over forty. I have some catching up to do! The shoes make the whole outfit…looking good.

  6. One of the things I like about lighter wash jeans is that they make such a nice contrast to black. I’ve been lusting after those sandals ever since I saw the grey version on you. And love the new blog design!

  7. Like Christina, I sense a new confidence in you lately. It’s nice to see you smiling more and the blond hair suits you so well. This outfit is great and I too like a lighter wash jean for summer and ordered the one’s you’re wearing (I’m a big NYDJ fan). Thanks for so much great information—keep it coming!
