J’adore…
Indigo by Clarks “Water Row” heeled desert boots. Great with ankle pants, jeans, even with a skirt and tights. Instant attitude.

The Water Row shoes are absolutely breath taking! Beautiful for the fall weather!!!
How did you do this — these booties have been in my head for the last week, since I saw them on a fabulous blogger (can’t remember which, darn). I think they are musts for fall.
CDBs cheeky in a heeled version- well-priced, too! Will we be seeing them in a WIW post?
I snapped up a pair of wedge Clark’s desert boots last week, so comfy and great with cords.

Those are great! I get so much wear out of my ankle boots with a mid-size heel. I have a black granny-ish pair (Metscan would def. find them old-fashioned) that I picked up in Paris and now the Acne pair plus a pair of Fluevogs from a few years ago. Otherwise, I’d be all over these Clarks — very versatile, and such a mellow colour. And I’d definitely wear them with skirt & tights.
I love that they look comfortable an sassy at the same time. Great fall look.

Love these boots! So classic and chic!
And a few posts back I see that you quoted Downton abbey! I’m totally hooked on it! Its given me a real desire for sequins and feathers in my hair! Are you the same!?
Girl about Town XxX
IMO, these booties look best on a petite woman.
They look old-fashioned, but maybe they are supposed to look so !
I bought the J.Crew wedge pair last year, and have gotten a lot of wear from them. Have them in sand. Thinking of the black suede ones – but not sure if black suede desert boots isn’t a bit of a mixed metaphor?
These are great looking. Sadly, even that chunky heel is probably too high for me.
Moi aussi.
I like them so much that it might be worth a try…my feet have been ruined from too high heels in my past…but these are really cute!
I love these boots – have a pair just like them – so easy for winter x

Those boots are rockin’ !
My poor old feet cannot handle a heel that high. If you have ever had plantar fasciitis you will know why!
I have a very similar pair – slightly lighter coloured – and I just love them. I’ve worn them through two winters now, and always get compliments …
Great boots and versatile! And who doesn’t love instant attitude?
OMG these are so tempting!! Love the colour, love the heel, just right.
However, I counted my shoes as a result of a recent post by Metscan, and I think I ‘won’ by a landslide – 42 pairs or so. So I know I really have too many boots/shoes.
Perhaps if I took a couple of pairs of my cowboy boots to the second hand store I could justify another pair of short boots to wear with tights and a skirt this fall?
I’m so frustrated by seeing so many cute boots that I can’t wear because the heels are too high! For thos of us with problem feet, why can’t they offer a 1-1/2 inch heeled version?
@CandiRae Yes, I love the look of distressed suede for fall!
@Patti @ NotDeadYet Style Once again proving true the old adage, “great minds think alike!”
@Duchesse I’ve always loved DBs, and you’ll see them next week as part of an ensemble.
@Bourbon&Pearls It’s funny, I think I’m the only person who finds wedges hard to walk in. But they’re really cute, and YES, with cords.
@metscan “Old fashioned,” how interesting. I hadn’t seen them that way, but the distressing does give them a worn, vintage look.
@kathy peck It’s my understanding the “desert” part refers to utility, not color. But I’m a believer in getting multiple colors of items that one wears a lot and loves, so why not?
@materfamilias I think I probably get more wear from ankle boots than any other style of shoe. So I didn’t feel guilty about buying these too. The color is so fabulous, it pairs with greys and browns. (And denim, bien sur!)
@Frugal Scholar The heel is definitely at the top end of my wearable heel height range, but I find these surprisingly comfortable. If you do a search on “heeled desert boots” you might be able to find some with a shorter heel.
@Pam @ over50feeling40 I do find these much easier to wear and more comfortable than many heels of a similar height. But I probably wouldn’t plan to walk long distances in them.
@fashion and frank They *are* easy, and go with so much in my wardrobe!
@Braxton and Yancey Thanks! Comfortable and sassy is my footwear Holy Grail.
@Girl about town…. Thank you. Yes, I love Downton Abbey. We won’t get season 2 until January, though! In the meantime, I’m watching House of Elliot DVD’s. Love that period of fashion.
@L’age moyen These would probably work with some of your skirts…
@Debbi@SheAccessorizesWell I’ve been lucky to never have foot problems, but this is the highest heel I can comfortably wear. My ideal heel height for walking and all-day comfort is about 1-1.5″. I can’t comfortably wear total flats either.
@Tiffany I’m sort of recalling seeing a picture of you in a similar style. Did you post on your blog at one time?
@LANA Thanks!
@The Style Crone I think boots are to me what hats are to you…the piece of the puzzle that makes me feel most myself.
@Northmoon Do you have a few pair that are duplicates of that you don’t wear often enough to keep? I’m finding I want to wear these a few times a week.
@Rita@Goldivas I’ll bet we can find some, I’ll put on my hunting cap and post what I find next week.
I was going to order these, but then ended up buying another pair of Indigo by Clarks. But these continue to haunt me . . .
My mother went through a tough period with me when I was around 8 and I refused to wear anything but the original desert boots, no matter WHAT I was wearing, including a pink satin dress.
exactly what I’m looking for this season!
