Out and about in Las Vegas

Susan B wears denim at the Conservatory at Bellagio, Las Vegas

We arrived in Las Vegas yesterday afternoon, and after unpacking decided to take a stroll before dinner. The Conservatory at Bellagio is one of my favorite spots. It’s always decorated for the season in beautiful floral displays.

I’m REALLY glad I included some light jackets in this travel wardrobe. The temperature has dropped from the 90’s to the 60’s during the day. And it’s quite chilly (for me) in most of the indoor spaces! (It’s quite windy as well, which is why my hair looks like the cat combed it…😆 )

We had a lovely dinner and wandered around a bit more afterward. Las Vegas is VERY busy! Many of the shops and restaurants seem to still be observing limited hours.

I brought just a few favorite pieces, which can be worn in multiple combinations.

  1. Enjoy your getaway. I’m heading to Caoe Cod this weekend. Very very casual! Just the sea and the sky and taking in the Chardonnay aromas at the Vinyard there!

  2. After having been robbed on a trip, I only take what I can wear and very little else in the way of jewelry. Too much else to worry about. and usually a lot of faux stuff that if someone really wants it that badly, they are welcome to it. On the good side, you are staying in one of my very favorite places . Hope you are having or had a fabulous time. Vegas is such an adult Disney. So much to do and never enough time.Been several times, but am sure things have really changed since then.

    1. Hi Susan, I’ve always been very cautious too about bringing anything valuable, but I think after the last year, my attitude is now “when else am I going to wear it?” 😉 That said, I don’t pack anything irreplaceable, and make sure anything valuable is insured. And yes, LV is very much like one big amusement park!

  3. WOw! I love the hummingbird background. Well all of it. Everything seems to be over the top in Vegas. I’ve never been there. Love your outfit. I love that you are getting away for a few days. I think that’s what we all need. Americans are going to be going places this Summer that don’t usually travel I think.

  4. Hi Susan: I usually don’t get to read your posts until the end of the day. The Bellagio looks wonderful and so do you. A question, are you going to be doing color analysis for people? If not, can you recommend anyone in San Diego? Good to hear that Las Vegas is busy! Mary

    1. I highly recommend Louise Hall in La Jolla- she is outstanding! She did colors and style sessions for me and it was one of the best things I have done for myself.

  5. Museum is still there. I last saw Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room there in early 2019, but I believe a new exhibit just opened.

  6. You are a master in packing for weekends off or holidays. I am getting better too, but in summer the shoes always do me in. I get blisters so easily. And flat shoes don’t look good on me, neither do Oxfords. Unfortunately.

  7. Hi there, this is on a different subject. I always enjoy you and your suggestions. I am in Texas and trying to navigate how to sign up for the make over with Brian . Little confusing if you can suggest how to start…
