Le weekend

Medici Palace Jardin de Luxembourg

Ah, to be sitting in one of those chairs and enjoying a bit of sun and a good book avant la rentrée.

Just wanted to mention a couple of things regarding l’affaire cashmere scarves and the free silk scarf offer:

  • The cashmere scarves are not itchy at all. The two I have are soft, light and feel delightful next to the skin. But, l’affaire cashmere wants their customers to be happy, and if the material is not satisfactory, they will accept returns.
  • The silk scarf will be automatically added to any order placed during the offer period. You do not need to enter any code or notation. They currently do not have any pictures available of the promotional silk scarves but they are either 90cm square (standard carré size) or rectangle, 36cm x 145cm.
  • Regarding any virus warnings, they have virus detection software that has not found any viruses, but are running a check again.

A Rockin’ Roll Model

This is one of the reasons I love the internet…it can be a force for positive change. Alicia of Spashionista has launched a movement, one that I hope we can all get behind. In her words:

Are you ready to be a positive instrument for collective social change?

Are you a fashion or lifestyle blogger that represents a marginalized point-of-view such as disabled, plus-sized, or over 40? Does your blog convey an honest but optimistic perspective that sets a positive example or seeks to bring about inclusive social change?  Are you an individual who regularly faces significant physical or social barriers that limit your fashion or lifestyle choices?

Then you are a Roll Model as described in my blog post of the same title, and I want you to be a part of the Roll Model Roster. The Roll Model Roster will serve as a directory of every fashion blog, lifestyle blog, or individual that wants to band together to support positive social change for their cause.

I feel as though it’s a slow and lurching process sometimes, but we are moving toward more inclusion, more acceptance, greater understanding. And I love to see someone taking the bit in their teeth to pull that cart forward just a few miles more. Go Alicia!!

Bon weekend!

  1. I will check out Alicia’s blog. Sometimes it feels a little lonely being an over 40 blogger. 🙂

    1. Carla, do check out my links on the Daily Reads page (top of blog) and also Bella’s fabulous into the violet 40+ blogroll, and be lonely no more. 🙂

  2. I would love to be on that Rock and Role roster. My blogs are: LoveintheTimeofCancer.blogspot.com–for women/couples with cancer and where I write about what no one will talk to pateints about: sex!

My other blog is: WomeninRecover.blogspot.com where I write about life, clothes, choices and growth for women with long recovery–who have been in 12 step programs for more than 20 years. They def are women of a certain age–and women of a certain edge:)

    many thanks

  3. Thank you for the update re l’affaire cashmere. I placed my order and at the same time emailed them with my questions, including whether I could take advantage of the discount as seen on this site (which I hadn’t noticed before but then began flashing at me). They were wonderful and explained that the silk scarf is included, as you said, and they gladly and swiftly refunded me the discount. I can’t wait to see my scarves!

  4. Goodness, it would be nice if she used the correct word “Role.” Unless, of course, there is a creative/interesting reason to use “roll?” I should give her the benefit of the doubt, I suppose – I will go read.

  5. I received my scarves from L’affaire cashmere today. They are lovely, and the free silk scarf is a color and design that I couldn’t have chosen better myself. The cashmere is a muted, tone on tone animal print in shades of brown. It is soooo soft! I am so pleased. 🙂

    1. Nicole, thanks for letting us know! I’ve been very pleased with the quality of the l’affaire cashmere scarves. Enjoy your new purchases!
